!
since you won't provide your identity, i'm not sure if you're my wife or not....but you sound exactly like her....Β
Since you are posting via computer, I KNOW that you are not my husband.
If you think that I am a bit paranoid, I should introduce you to my second oldest sister. I don't know how she can manage to have a life at all. I am Suzyshareital compared to her. |

Location: Willows, CA | I think a person can express their support for breast cancer research with a check as well as what they wear. That being said, my wife is a 16 year breast cancer survivor. I wear pink whenever an event is having a "tough enough day". When we did the Horseman's ReUnion event in California last year they provided shirts for the presenters for the week, and one of them was pink. I think that is great and was glad to wear it. If all of this leads to a few more women detecting breast cancer earlier then I will wear pink every time an event encourages it. I can't see why any guy would feel that the color of his shirt would make a difference in his manliness. Sad.

Not sure mommy is gonna claim you now. The probability of you eating her is quite high. |

Perhaps they just don't like being told what to wear and when to wear it. Perhaps they don't need to make public "look at me, I'm sympathetic" displays to contribute. |

Location: Willows, CA | I guess that I am just not rough or tuff enough to take offense at wearing a pink shirt. Nor do I think that wearing a pink shirt somehow threatens my manliness. At 6' 7" and 265 pounds, no shirt color is going to get that done. I am proud to show my support for this great program, and I think that taking offense to a color as an excuse not to support it is BS. If a person thinks that the program or any money is might generate is a waste of time, they get to have that opinion. Saying a guy would never wear a pink shirt in support of this just because it is pink is ignorant. I think every man has a woman he cares for fight this battle at some time. For me, it is my wife. Hate the program if you think you have a reason. If you don't have a reason, be a man and wear a pink shirt in support. It will not turn you gay, I promise. |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | Choosing to wear a color in support of any cause is a nice thing. However...to be bullied into it or else risk being called a woman hater or whatever is just wrong and not at all in the spirit of what is intended.
Maybe they spilled something on their pink shirt...maybe they got poo on it...maybe they forgot what night it was as they have a hundred thousand other things to be doing and thinking about before the most important competition of the year.
Maybe they were too busy sending food to the starving children in Africa that day to pick it up from the cleaners?
Whatever the reason for not wearing pink...does it even matter? Is it at all appropriate to make assumptions about their position or support for healthy boobies or any other thing? I sure don't think so. |

This is the dumbest question I have ever heard in my life. Could it be that they just don't like pink, or maybe they forgot it was pink night? If you watch the NFR and this is the kind of BS you think about, you need to get a life. |

Location: relocated to Texas | trickster j - 2014-12-10 8:18 AM Oh my goodness- a simple no I don't think so would have been sufficent- lol! I put this same comment on my Facebook page and got alot more insightful comments. Interesting to see how people respond when their identity is hidden, verses those who know each other. Lol- gotta love the anonymity of BHW! eta: and by the way, my whole name is posted in my profile if any of you would like to jump on my Facebook to see how a constructive discussion on this comment would look like- you all just crack me up!!! Cheers! :)
Lol, this really made me laugh. How do you have a constructive conversation regarding this comment? You would have to be able to read the mind's of those you are talking about to get a correct answer. The rest is just a bunch of people giving a hair brained opinion.
Here's a thought: "The mind is a terrible thing to waste." Perhaps you could put yours to better use??

Location: Mountains of VA | Here are my thoughts.....wearing pink may help raise awareness but who is really making all the money from people going out and buying pink clothing..........the manufacturers! Since most clothes are made in another country..........who are we really supporting?? All the clothing manufacturers just love this kind of movement.
Why not take the money that is spent on pink shirts, shoes, pants, etc. and donate to research or to your local hospice? |

| Dang, I wish I had time to read all of these comments! Just the few I have read are very interesting in that just a simple question can stir up such intense anger- I'm working on a masters in psychology, and I guess since during my course of study I've had to respond to questions such as these, I'm used to asking them and answering them with respect for the person asking them. Some pretty deep conversation usually develops from a somewhat shocking idea or thought- not here I obviously- carry on! I'll check in tomorrow for more intelligent insights!
