After starting out riding western pleasure, then jumping for the past 5 years, and just starting riding barrels, at 50 years old, I commend all of you who can do this. It's harder than it looks and if you can reach down to grab a tipping barrel, or lift your leg, or as some have said "flop around like a monkey" it all takes great balance.

Unfortunately for some of us we have to work really really hard to stay in shape or keep weight off, I've always struggled with my weight, my horse is a 2D at the most horse, whether it's my weight or that she's just not fast enough the fact of the matter is that we both try our hearts out, and have fun.

If you did follow Fallon on snapchat you would see she's constantly in her workout clothing, and always riding, if you ask me she's not sitting on the couch eating potatoe chips then hopping on Flo and running everywhere.

Fallon is not a big girl. She probably stands about 5'6" I'd guess. She is not large at all nor is she overweight. BabyFlo is tiny so it makes Fallon appear larger than she really is. I'm not a Fallon fan in some area's. But I don't agree she needs a bigger horse. My daughter is 5'5" and her mare is about the same size as BabyFlo. To look at pictures it looks like my daughter is huge. That is not the case. How can you call 5'5" and 125 pounds overweight or too big? Fallon is close to the same size.

Sure not gonna ague with success.  I think a big big part of the reason why these top girls are successfull is that they are smart enough to realize that they are never perfect and are always trying to improve.

I can kind of understand the comments about her riding style. But I'm still reeling from the weight thing. Fallon isn't even close to being overweight. She looks fit to me. No wonder so many people deal with body image issues...

SKM - 2016-06-26 11:05 AM I'm hoping her wild riding is a thing of the past. At the one ERA her foot got stuck up in the cantle on first. She was forced to sit quiet and ride since she was stuck. It was her best time. She said that she was going to start trying to ride quieter.

Why would anyone want to go to one of her clinics or send their child to one to learn how to ride like that?? It just blows my mind.

I agree with Frodo, she either needs a bigger horse or needs to lose weight. Weight loss combined with better, quieter riding would really help her.

Flame away........I just cringe everytime I see someone ride like that, I don't care how fast or who they are.

I probably read this with some hate in my heart, but this post makes me want to find you and kick your ass for all us chunky chicks on nice horses that you probably would use your salt and vinegar on.

Horses that are carrying too much weight don't clock. It's a scientific fact. If you've ever entered a race with Fallon and Baby Flo there, much less a rodeo (which I have), you'd hold your tongue as you got yours doors blown off.

That team is smoking fast and have way more to talk about in way of accomplishments than 98% of the people on this board.

Every clinic, every rider, everywhere can offer knowledge to everyone else. That knowledge is sometimes in the form of how not to ride.

But honestly, I'd be proud to go ride with Fallon, because that chic has overcome mountains. If I went and learned NOTHING, it would be because I had my head up my ass and wasn't paying attention.

I get so sick of the jealousy spew on here. Don't like her, don't watch her. Don't like her, so being ugly and help some child learn how to be a star. Don't like her, stop ill wishing her and peddle your ugly somewhere else. Don't like her, build a better horse, a better body, and a bigger franchise, and go beat her.

I'm calling bull**** on the weight comment. You certainly can expect ridiculous and unnecessary comments like that on the Internet but I never expected to see that on a forum like this. RIDICULOUS. She is obviously gorgeous and fit and works hard as hell and she looks fabulous whatever she might weigh! Cutting someone down like that is just inexcusableBaby Flo has NO problem running with her aboard to win after win. Maybe let the horse decide what she thinks of her jockeys weight!

I don't consider the wild and crazy riding as something to be proud of, although I'm a pretty quiet rider and I've seen several shots of where I must have been popped out of the saddle and the camera caught it at just the right moment.

But Fallon is definitely NOT overweight. I'm extremely tiny and I don't even think she's overweight.

All I can say is WOW!
Im really glad iv never posted any pictures of me on here. While I do agree everyone has something new to learn every day, I would not say anyone that has EVER made it to the NFR needs to completely change the way they do things. Cause if I remember correctly Fallon has already done that after her first not so great NFR experience with baby flo. She said she was so mad at herself so she went home and changed everything about how she rode so she could get BETTER! and she made it back to the NFR the following year. Im really tired of ppl beating on Fallon for the things she does, Iv never met her. Im not a die hard fan. But I guarantee if I ever do meet her I will ask her opinion of what I could do better to be more like her.

Jealously comes to mine.  People are so judgemental these days.  I would suggest everyone that thinks she is doing something wrong, hit the rodeo trail and see how you do.

Anyone who has had this discussion with me knows that Fallon is not my cup of tea.

BUT

Every time my 5'9 165lb self climbs on my 14.1hh crotch rocket... I remind myself that she's out there taking names and cashing checks so we must be doing something right.

I guess I'll go home and let him know the BHW gods have spoken, I'm too big for him, and we need to stop kicking a**, that's a darn shame ain't it.

Hats off to anyone that has been successful on the rodeo trail! I appreciate the ALL of the individuals that compete and live this tough lifestyle!
My 2 mares are small and weigh 1,000 lbs. each. This motivates me to stay in shape. I know that a horse should never be expected to perform (and stay sound) with more than 20% of its own weight on its back. Fallon definitely believes in fitness, and she knew what it would take to win on a small horse with a BIG heart!

I cant decide if this thread ****es me off or makes me sad...

Fallon has already made comments about getting her foot stuck made her realize she wants to quiet down. Now she won before and she is still self-reflecting. I think some people here need to self-reflect... why are you being so ugly? What is it that makes you heart so mean? Bad marriage? Death in the family? Lack of success on your end? Dead-end job? What makes you so full of hate where you want to make such a nasty comment about someone??!!

People... honestly, and we wonder whats wrong with this world.

For a gal who's won the world, constantly winning barrel races in Texas and someone who gives so much of her time to other's is suddenly too big for her horse? Can you outrun her? Have you? Good grief...
