I have another appointment in 4 weeks (December 16th I think it is). If my high level of pain has returned by then he discussed injecting the joint. He told me if the muscle injections are still working by December 1st then he wants me to start riding lightly to see if that has any effect on me. With what my massage therapist wrote up, he is hopeful that we are just battling years of muscle contracting and such and that with some injections and other maintenance that we can get it all worked out.
I'm still left with so many questions and lack of answers but it's a start and definitely a more hopeful outlook then the neurosurgeon gave me. I'm trying to remain positive. Not the easiest task.
Im gonna keep you in my thoughts and prayers because I know how scary and frustrating all this is from dealing with it with Sean. Hang in and stay positive. God has this. . . . . |

Location: California | Thank you! I'm praying things work out. If not it will be a very real possibility of Ace being up for sale in the Spring. This guy has WAY too much potential to not continue on the barrels! I'm in no rush to do anything and my hope is that I will be able to get back to training him myself and continue with my dream I had when I bred Serenity.
I'm off Tuesday - Thursday this coming week so I plan to get plenty of pics and videos if the weather cooperates of the kids and Ace :) |

Location: Arkansas | Please please give yourself time and don't rush into anything. Sean has literally been on the verge of giving up horses totally and now things have taken an upswing for the better and we're fixen to start riding again. Let Ace babysit and rest while you just wait and see how things go. |

Location: California | I'm definitely in no rush to do anything. Until I get some definite answers Ace will continue with the kids and when I can get on a horse I'll probably get on his mom since I don't want to risk Ace deciding to be a frisky colt. Lol. I do hope I can find someone to exercise him a few times a week after a break. I don't really want him sitting as long as I'll probably be out.
The Dr wasn't kidding when he told me to expect to feel icky today. Hopefully each day I feel better like I'm supposed to. Fingers crossed! Lol |

Location: California | Well between the Holliday and my back we only pulled out the horses for the farrier. So I only have a few pasture pics.
Unfortunately while the injections have loosened up my upper back muscles which has relieved some of my pain, the localized on and off severe pain along my spine is not a good sign at this stage.
Standing by mom's half draft gelding.

| Don't be afraid to go get another doctor opinion. That is where I am as I have a betrayed disc ,2 levels up from a 20 year fusion he said my only relief would be another fusion and it has partridges in to the left nerve and it is affected my left leg and how high I can lifted and if I do a lot of walking it gets tired gonna send my MRI off to one of those clinics that do stem cell and prp. Plus I will get a couple more opinions. I know a fusion next to a fusion would not be good for your back |

Location: California | Saw my massage therapist the other day, the injections are definitely not helping :( I will be trying to get to a different Dr and I am going to try to push for another neck MRI. I don't believe for a second that nothing is wrong with my neck. Maybe it's all tied together some how with something we are missing, idk. I'm just so sick of the headaches and being in pain!
I'm not medically cleared but I couldn't stand it and I rode Serenity and Ace yesterday. Ace has had 6 weeks off and never put a hoof out of place! It was a chilly, windy day and he was 100% focused and did everything I asked! We walk/trot/loped circles like he had never had a day off. I REALLY hope we can get me figured out!

Location: California | See the spine Dr again tomorrow morning. Should be injecting the spine to see if that gives me better relief. Hopefully I can lay still long enough. I've been battling another rampant round of allergy/respiratory issue that has had me in bed for the last 3 days. Truly horrible timing. Lol.
Flash back to baby Ace!

**UPDATE: Dr Ohman did an adjustment and wants to see me back twice next week for 2 more adjustments to see how that helps. He really wants to do the spine injections as the last resort and I agree. The very injections that could help me can also deteriorate the very same joint. So, still no definite answers unfortunately.**
On the plus side, Ace has been on THE Muscle Mass and FORCO for a little over a month now and I LOVE the results! Usually when he is not in work he looses his top line and drops quite a bit of muscle tone. I need to put Serenity on it as well. Mom's hard keeper arabian is also doing AMAZING on the same regimen.

I didn't take my phone out with me but Ace had a blast playing with the ice from the water tank after I tossed it all out. Lol. He's such a ham!
Unfortunately about an hour after my adjustment from the spine doc and clear to now my back and neck have been killing me. My hips have actually been a huge issue today which is weird. I had completely planned on saying screw it and riding Ace anyways even with the nice cold front but the pain level stopped me. I plan on going in to the Dr's office first thing tomorrow since they never called me back to set up 2 more appointments for this week. I'll just let them know I'm now in agony and we will see what the Dr wants to do. I was really hoping that after almost a week in bed and not stressing my back would have helped. Ugh. This is so aggravating. Before all this I really did NOT complain about much. This too shall pass! |

Location: Arkansas | I know from dealing with Sean how hard it is to get answers dealing with your back. His is better now for no reason---took out the spinal cord stimulator because it was infected, so he should not for all intents and purposes be better. Something I just don't understand, but I'm extremely thankful for. So I will hope you get better results before you know it. Let us know how tomorrow goes. . . |

Location: California | LMAO. Serenity is a hoot. She's never impressed with the photo shoots. Lol. Thank you! Serenity has been my rock for almost 9 yrs now and Ace, well, he holds his own special place. :)
Well, the adjustments obviously didn't work so he is now back to thinking arthritis in the joint. So I have a prescription for an anti inflammatory gel to use twice a day for the next 2 weeks and then we re-evaluate injecting the spine. His thought process is if that helps it will lead to a procedure that would burn the pain nerves around that joint and give me relief for about 2 years. My concern is wouldn't burning the nerves possibly hurt me in the long run? Since without feeling the pain I would just way over do it?
