I hope your kitty keeps getting better, kittens can be tough if they get sick :( |

It really is, but it was worth it! we kept a kitten from each litter and they have been the best cats. My grandpa owned the feed store in town and we tried to catch and spay/relocate as many cats as we could but twice there were litters born and abandoned in the warehouse. Both my dad and grandpa pretend to be tough but they are suckers for baby animals lol |

I worked for a vet back in Oklahoma who would catch the strays, spay them or neuter them, and then while they were still out he would freeze brand them with OSU on both sides. Their hair would come back white and each cat had white OSU letters on their sides. He had a mouse problem at the clinic and everyone around there kept taking the cats home after he would spay or neuter them. The cats would always end up running away. (The cats were pretty feral and well over the kitten stage.) Since everyone around were OU fans the cats finally weren't taken home anymore. Our mouse problem quickly went away at the clinic. He kept an open stall every day for the cats to bed down in with food and water. Pretty smart man that vet was. LOL
Update on Julie today: Julie likes to play with the squeeky ball my SO of all people bought her. She also enjoys hiding and attacking my feet when I walk by. I now remember why I am not a cat person. That HURTS when she bites my toes! |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | I am bumping this up because I feel like with recent events in everyone's lives, we need something happy to talk about. I've been meaning to give this a bump but have just forgotten. Julie is doing GREAT! She's fat, happy, sassy and has weirdly gotten attached to my Dad. He hates cats too. But Julie follows him out to his shop and chases mice while he works. She kills one every single time he said. She walks behind him while he feeds the pigs and chickens and rides on the back of the truck while he feeds cows and horses. Needless to say, my Dad kind of likes her too. She has been fixed, microchipped, and is up to date on shots now. (Biggest vet bill I've ever had that wasn't a horse.)
She's a very odd cat. She walks with a limp and walks sideways sometimes but she fits right in at my Parents house. (Was trying to find her a home where she could be inside 24/7 but my Mom got attached and wanted her. Turns out she hates the house anyway.) My Mom keeps her in the garage during the day with a heater or fan depending on the temp. She's always in the window sill when Mom gets home. She lets her play outside with my younger brother and sister when they're home and puts her up at night in the garage since they live further out. She sometimes comes in the house when she doesn't want to stop playing with my young siblings but will let you know when she wants back out. She's very odd, but very loved. My little girl and her still play when we visit. She points to her and says "Kitty?" And then says: "MLOW. MLOW." Not sure where the L came from but oh well. Julie likes to play with my little one's single pony tail like pebbles, on top of her head and my little one laughs uncontrolably when she does. I still hate cats. But Our Julie is pretty cool for a cat I guess. |
