Just got my colt vet checked today. He is turning 3 in april. Vet said to take it easy with him cause he still has alot of growing to do and he will be a BIG horse. I guess I can do groudwork and light rides.

This made me think of our Lions Share of Fame big boy. We are used to cow horses around here and they grow and mature fast. Dually seemed to take forever. Broke him at 2 and while he was so kind and sweet he just didn't seem to get handy fast. 3 year old year was much better, but man, he was still growing and gangly. His 4 year old year he turned a corner and now as a 6 year old is a staple here on the ranch. My husband took him over. He wears a size 1 shoe and I am ready to put him in size 2's. Long story short...patience pays off with those big babies.

Oh he is definetly still in the gangly phase! He isn't very pretty right now, but his older full siblings are jaw droppers, so I am hoping her grows into his big feet and knees.
