I worked the same job for 17 years and I was miserable but scared to change. In August of this year I applied for a job and got it. I took a pay cut but made up for it with great insurance and retirement. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I just wish I would have done it sooner.

My daughter had worked really hard to get a biology & chemistry degree. She worked in the medical field and hated it, but didn’t want to take another job because she felt like she was wasting her degrees. Finally she applied for different job that had nothing to do with her degrees and she would be taking a slight cut in pay. She got the job. She works in the cooperate office for Oreilly’s Automotive . She wasn’t supposed to be able to get a promotion for a year but got one in 4 months. She now makes more money than she did before & she says on her worth day she just thinks at least I don’t have to be in the medical field anymore

I wanted to come back and add that I ended up with my last job because I had made it my New Years Resolution to take more risks so I sent my resume and cover letter to the company and asked for a job. They had never advertised an opening and I didn't know anyone at the company, I just decided I wanted to work there and the worst they could do is ignore me. About a month after I sent it they called me late on a Saturday and asked me to come interview, I did and they hired me at the interview that night. They created the positition I had there, said they hadn't even thought about it until they got my letter. So I guess what I am saying is if there is a job or a company you really want to work for just send them your info and see what happens even if they don't have ajob listing out there.
