I’m sorry it took me so long to respond- someone had to go get smelling salts and revive me because I fainted when I saw that pedigree. Holy Moly- what a bunch of good horses! Leo, Question Mark, Oklahoma Star, Hank H, King, Gay Bar King, San Sue Darks, Hollywood Gold, Three Bars- have mercy!

I remember Hanks Sue- I’m thinking either we had her for a while or Matlock did. Maybe Mr. Howell owned her? (she was bred to Leo San in 1957, 1959, and 1962, which would have been right)

I kept thinking β€œI need to ask Mother,” but I can’t.

Flit Bar Beggar was by Flit Bar and out of a granddaughter of Leo San Siemon. Junior Hudspeth raised him. It’s neat to hear your story of having to hide your horse in the trailer, lol!

Cloverleaf, if my memory serves me, E.J. Hudspeth was listed as the breeder and 1st owner on this horse's papers. We got him when he was 8 or 9 years and he'd been passed around a bit before we got him.

Do you remember what mare he was out of? Junior had some good mares-

Neighbor owns the first mare.....never did a thing with her but use her as a pasture pet. The second I bought the dam from a different neighbor for $20 bucks....she was skin and bones and preggo. She had the baby and died shortly after. Sold the foal for $5k....

cloverleaf - 2018-04-14 9:41 AM Whoapony, wouldn’t you love to have one of those old mares to breed to one of the popular barrel sires of today?
