winwillows - 2018-11-12 12:22 PM We hauled dog food to Chico yesterday for the rescue center at the CHICO airport. 700 dogs being cared for. The woman that was overseeing the project said β I remember you from the fire at Santa Rosa last year. Those people are amazing with their time. Hay on itβs way to Gridley fairgrounds, with RG to follow for the horses being held there. We bought Tractor Supply out of halters. We help when we can, but the people who move in to care for the evacuated animals are saints. Prayers to all the fire victims. 6700 homes destroyed in one day.
Please keep us posted on ground zero efforts during the fire. Β Β Thank you ! Continued prayers. Β
There is so much need in different places that it is difficult to go where it is needed most. We are closed today and making a loop with RG and our dog food to Orland, Chico and Gridley. |

My SIL's 2nd cousin and spouse are missing. So, her family is exhausting all avenues right now trying to find them.
Prayers that they are found safe.
I know that people and home are the first concern but the wildlife suffers too. Big animal lover here
While I fully understand the wildlife and animals are suffering, deceased, injured, etc... there is so much more to this fire than that. Your comment seems to be putting wildlife and animal lives about people. How would you feel if you had family missing during a wildfire and you cannot find them? |

If I ever had a family member missing I would be in panic mode, my sister in laws son went missing one time years ago and all I could think of was awful things that could have happen to him I was sacred to death for my sister and brother in law, but he showed up safe after a all night ordeal.. |

Location: Willows, CA | I took my grandson with me to help unload dog food at the Chico airport. When we were done I thought that it was only fair to feed him, so we went down town to find lunch. Every eating place was full of people who had evacuated. Many just had a red cross blanket and the what they were wearing when they ran. One lady had pajamas on and a blanket. It is hard to imagine until you see it in person. We are headed back over with more feed in an hour or so. The hard part will be in a few weeks when some of the mass help dwindles away and these people and animals still need help. We have committed to a long term support schedule, and I know others have too. Northern California people are not what a lot of people think of when they think of this state. Big hearts and a lot of rural state of mind in this part of the state. We actually know our neighbors, and everyone that I know has a tie to someone who has lost everything in this tragedy. |

This is just so horrible, the only bad things to happen here is the floods and hurricanes and they are horrible when you have family that gets caught up in them, you can kinda perpare for them at least, but a wildfire theres no perparing unless you can get a fire barrier done but thats not even a sure thing in most cases. Prayers |

I'm being repetitive, but again, you and your company and the other volunteers are certainly angels to these people and animals in need. God bless you sir. . . |

Location: 31 lengths farms | 8000+ homes or structures of burnt. I keep thinking that the town I live in is around 14000 people, this would be like our entire town being leveled pretty much. Some of the stories are heartwarming , most will break your heart. The fire blew thru Paradise on Thursday the 8th, not a whole lot left, yet Monday morning town officials had purchased new flags, and put them on makeshift flag poles to line their main street like they do every Veterans Day. These people deserve everything we can humanly do to help restore some normalcy to thier lives. A garbage truck driver saved an 87 year old woman who had recently had back surgery, put her in his garage truck and made a slow 7 hour drive to get her to safety. Another man going door to door to check for survivors found a 90 some year old woman who had been staying in her home, no electricity, no running water, living on the food that was defrosting in her freezer, people who made several trips back and forth to get people out with fire literally surrounding them, one woman rode her horse as far as she could, a stranger loaded the horse up in a u-haul trailer to get the horse out for her.
Prayers are needed as are the smallest donations |

Location: 31 lengths farms | Not the whole town but a very very large portion of it. 250+ businesses are gone on top of the homes lost. Like I said, it is a town of a lot of retirees so having services in town are crucial. We live about 70 miles from there, my fiance's mom had to evacuate but she is one of the lucky ones as her home is still standing.

| There is a woman now wanting to sue the government because helecopters were refilling with water to fight the fires in malibu by filling out of the ocean. She is heartbroken for the countless marine lives lost when the helicopters invaded their habitat to take precious water without warning. |

Location: Willows, CA | Remember, a lot of these people still have mortgage payments to make. It is raining now on those who are living in tents. Whatever you see on the television, this nightmare is many times worse than that. There is a safe fund to donate to at Tri Counties Bank. They are based in Chico CA and are moving donated funds to quality use. Sierra Nevada Brewery made 15,000 Thanksgiving day dinners for the evacuated families. If you are a beer drinker, you might give theirs a try. |
