| Do any of yall carry the extra insurance? My husband pays $10 a month for something called US Law Shield. I've actually never looked into it and what exactly it's supposed to cover if you are ever forced to use your weapon. |

Location: Arizona | I carry, but don't need a permit to do so in Arizona. Plan on getting a CCW in the near future though, mostly for buying purposes. My bf was a small arms weapons instructor at one time, and he's done a good job of helping me feel more comfortable handling firearms over the years. I didn't grow up in a house with guns; my step dad had a pistol that I rarely saw, and I never touched or shot it. So Nintendo's "Duck Hunt" and the Red Rider BB gun I got for Christmas when I was 10YO were the only firearms training I had until I was about 25, lol. |

| We have a house full of guns. My kids dont even look twice at them, they know they arent allowed to touch ANY of them unless we are helping them. All my kids have hunted and got deer for our freezer so they are pretty educated on gun and gun safety. The great thing about this league I'm joining I can bring my 14 yr old daughter on league nights and she can shoot with me. League nights are for ladies only, we go twice a month for range time with the instructor. |

Location: Arizona | That's how my stepsons were raised as well, and aside from an incident where one of them took down a deer with his .22 in the yard - out of season - my boyfriend didn't have any major problems with them, hahaha. |

I carry Texas Law Shield with a U.S. Law Shield rider. (I travel for work ALOT!) |

I carry Texas Law Shield with a U.S. Law Shield rider. (I travel for work ALOT! )
Yep that's the one. Hes a truck driver and goes thru Laredo a lot but his company doesnt allow their drivers to carry... unfortunately. Wish they'd change that for the licensed drivers anyway. I suppose it's just too much of a liability for the company though. He doesnt carry but a bunch of drivers always say I'd rather be fired than dead.. I agree! |

my husband just recently sold his truck but he hauled a lot of cattle and hay around the country. It was his personal truck, but one of those things, he believes in what foundation said ^ |

Location: NE TX | I have my TX LTC and I carry a Sig Saur P238. It comes with a magazine that holds 6, I purchased the extended magazine (it is designed for 7) so that there is a place to rest by little finger when holding and firing. I also carry mine 7+1 (loaded, chambered with a full magazine of 7).
I was super nervous for my LTC class but the instructor was really cool and helped calm my nerves.
When I practiced before my test I practiced at the distances the test would be done at and shot at a paper plate. If you can shoot the paper plate you will hit the center of the target. It was a trick my grandparents taught me when I was practicing for my test and not just goofing off at the house anymore.
I don't have any of the insurances cause most of the time if I travel it is for work and I travel by plane and TSA frowns on bringing a gun on the plane for some reason lol. |

How awesome, I know shooting can get addicited, I dont shoot, but hubby has a big deep pit in my back pasture that hes got his table in and he and some of his buddys use it all the time for target practice. You and your sister in law need to start making a girls day out to go target practice when you get a chance too.. Sounds like you might be starting a new hobby. |

Yes! We went ahead and signed up for the womens league while we were there. They meet twice a month for a ladies shooting night then they all go out to eat after. I'm kinda excited because I literally have zero friends out here that I see on a regular basis, so this will help me get out and meet more people! Everyone was so nice at the range. We are going to shoot more than that though.. we both have a good dirt pile we can target practice on in our pastures. Theres so much I want to improve on already, I think being in the range next time without the pressure of having to pass a test will be a lot better for me lol! I didnt know I could load that gun so fast! We were only shooting 5 rounds at a time so I was constantly reloading. We spent 5 hours in the classroom and honestly it flew by because she was so entertaining and full of really cool police stories. I had a handful of some bobbles but for the most part I was pretty happy with my shooting! First time in a range setting. I was able to shoot the gun an hour before we left the house so I could get rid of the jitters. I somehow managed to hit dead center twice in a row lol!  |

Location: Hill Country of TEXAS!! | want2chase3 - 2019-02-10 4:24 PM I'm not going to open carry. I bought a purse that has a compartment for a handgun. That's how I'm going to roll anyway. And im going to have my hubby install a clip to hold my gun under my steering wheel in my pickup. I travel alone, a lot. Open carry doesnt bother me it's just not what I want to do. I've seen plenty around town that open carry.
Food for thought... Being in a compartment inside your bag; how are you going to reach it, draw it and fire when its needed 2 seconds ago? Not to mention your fright factor slowing you down in a emergency/ life threatening situation. If you are going to carry you need to have it ON YOU, and be very comfortable handling it. This goes for everyone, not just you specifically. If you get hijacked and someone grabs your bag.. guess what. They now have your bag, money AND your loaded gun.. My dad is in law enforcement and a firearms instructor. This is always a discussion. Practice drawing your gun, never leave it or store it where someone else can get it and know your abilities. Don't be an armed victim. |
