I'm kinda torn now, for the first time since all this started. I wasnt too concerned but I'm starting to think it may be more serious than I thought or would like to think. I dont watch much tv anyway but everytime I walk by a tv its something about coronavirus. We decided to go to town last night to eat an early dinner at our favorite Mexican joint. They now have a hand sanitizer station deal set up right by the front door, before you even walk in. And inside there were bottles of hand sanitizer on each table. Tonight, my daughter and I decided to do some late night grocery shopping, I usually do this to avoid the crowd Sunday after church shopping. Late Saturday nights the store is pretty much a ghost town. Each cashier had a huge bottle of hand sanitizer at their register and a second big bottle next to the credit card scanner for customers .. I've never seen that before. My sister in law works in administration for a large hospital out this way and she told me they received an email from corporate yesterday advising them to get some significant cash from their accounts "just in case" things get to that point. I'd usually just shrug and blow it off thinking that's being way too paranoid but it made me get a little nervous.
I think the panic will be far worse than the disease itself. The H1N1 flu was far worse and not much was said about it in the media. I actually got sick that year and it was the sickest I have ever been in my life but I never went to the doctor. I think the panic is going to cause people to run to the doctor at the first cough which will make the numbers spike now that testing kits are widely available. |

Where did you get this information? That's a hefty % |

| That's wrong. It's expected to maybe infect 60% of the population. But only a 1% or 2% death rate. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I was told by a few friends a while back when all this Coronavirus (and they are in the medical feild} was getting started here and they were bringing people here to San Antonio from the cruise ship to be quarantine not to take this Coronavirus lightly, Its a new virus and not is known to much about it yet and it spreads pretty fast if in contact with a infected person, best was not to be in or just stay away from crowds of people stay away from busy places like malls and other big places for now untill more is learned about this new virus, best to be safe now then sorry later. So myself I'm taking this serious untill more is learn about it, Its a new Virus so take care and not blow this off, untill more is known about it. Im not stopping life but just taking more cautions then usually. |

| People may poke fun at me for this but I dont mind. I started my family on taking Colloidal silver drops every morning. It was highly recommended from a person I know and trust 100% who does all herbal and holistic health. I also use the nasal spray daily. Do I think it will totally prevent us from getting sick?? Maybe not but it certainly wont hurt us. We travel for baseball and I'd be lying if I said I wasnt nervous being around all the people and let's be honest, kids are kinda gross, especially boys in the dugout lol! I'm making sure my kids keep hand sanitizer in their bags and have their own water bottles that wont get shared. |

The ones that like poking fun are fools, at least you worry about your family and try you're best to make sure they stay safe. It dont hurt to be a little over cautious, I rather be more a little over then not at all. |

I feel the same way ..... And .... I don't mind the "media" keeping me apprised of where there are outbreaks. Many can "poo-poo" the media and the hype that it may just be the "flu" but it has been proven to be deadly to the elderly and those with compromised immunity systems...... A person may not even show symptoms or get sick but they CAN bring it home to their elderly relatives, etc ..... It sure doesn't hurt to be overly cautious! |

Exactly. While Jacob is deemed healthy and in remission, we still absolutely need to take precautions with him and all of us that live with him. My daughter is insisting she go to a large event with her father next week, it's a week long motorcycle race thing. I told her if she decided to go she would need to stay at her fathers for at least a few weeks when they returned, just to be absolutely safe. She did the 15 yr old girl eye roll and agreed. It may seem over the top but I couldn't imagine how awful we would all feel if she accidentally got ill and brought it home to him. Better safe than sorry and she can take her laptop and do her school work at his place. Another plus for deciding to homeschool, it's been a Godsend to my family. |

My standard protocol when headed to a multi-day show weekend is to snort my silver spray, coat nasal passage with bacitracin nightly, and take minimal dosage of sambucol starting the weekend before. I continue through the show weekend. I'm glad to have the protocol in place since this next weekend may be the biggest 'spread' of covid19. I'm not terribly worried about dying, but this protocol helps lessen the severity of whatever I may pick up out and about this weekend. |

Location: East Texas | Not a new virus. It has been around for sometime. Prob had lots of cases in the US in the past, but was never really tested for at the DR office. When was the last time they tested you for the cor. virus when you went in sick? They swabbed for the flu and if that was negative they said you must have a cold...... Now they are testing more, so of course, it will show up more. All of the stats I have seen do not put it anywhere near the flu, measles, or the hundreds of other common diseases we have here in terms of spreadability, death rate, ect. On the up side....airline tickets are cheap right now. |

Yes...you are correct.....the Corona Virus HAS been around for awhile but just like the regular flu, there are different strains of it! That is why there is a "new" flu vaccine every year ...... However, this strain of the Corona Virus is more deadly and there is NO vaccine! I would rather be safe than sorry ...... |

Why is this coming weekend going to be the biggest spread? We are actually traveling this weekend to an away basement tournament with our youngest son. We decided to haul our LQ to stay on the grounds as they actually have hookups there instead of a hotel. It's all outdoors and looking at the attending list it's not going to be a very large tourney at all.. |

This week, or next week, possibly the week after that, the numbers will reach the flash point and then the number of infected will rise exponentially. My opinion only. |
