Your post is so encouraging to me.  My gelding will be having surgery with Dr. Honnas the first week of March for kissing spine.  I'm thankful the problem was discovered and my gelding will have a better life!  It's a 14 hour drive for me to Texas but will be well worth it.  Thanks for the updates!

your more than welcome!  and please update on yours!

Praying for great results!

I dont regret it at all!!!!  The difference in Dually is so amazing!  even with the knee lol

Also his biting is still gone!!!!  every once in a while he will nip but its a playful thing!  I can brush him on the right side without him trying to bite or nip!  it didnt matter if on neck back or butt!

I have lunged him bout 2x now. He feels amazing! And so much forward movement!!!
supposed to walk for a week and then trot the next but he don't want to walk   He wants to long trot and lope! Since I'm not on him I let him do what he feels like doing!
I think sometimes we can go to slow on rehabbing and too fast too! I decided to let him decide. So far he not sore and the knee not bothering him!
I will lunge him this week and next week I'll add saddle and lunge. And then the 3 rd week I'll crawl on him! As long as he doing good. Here some pics. It was raining and he was wet so thought it would show his back better

I know its been awhile since update! we have had bad weather as most knows! Im in OK.  and I got new job! and building fence!  I have been trying to do something with Dually!

So far I have been lunging him when I can and I got on him for the first time last Saturday!!! I was sooo nervous! He was such a poo head on ground and while saddling bc he feels soo good! lol  But when I sat on him he changed and was sooo good and did whatever I asked!  He can back up several feet no problem!  He can side pass!!! He can even counter arc!!! Ive only been able to walk right now!

Only got to ride 3x and when I went to saddle last night my latigo has a rip in it! ugg so my saddle is getting oiled today and new rigging on it! and its going to rain so be a couple days before Im back on!

Still amazed at the changes in him and how well he moves!!! I know its at a walk but there is a difference! and he wants to go so much faster! His head down even where it needs to be walking he no longer like bunched up when we walk if that makes sense.  To be honest never bother me that way he carried his head just that that was his style! He never did hollow his back.  its hard to explain. sorry

Anyways I'll post another update next week or two he ready for trotting and loping!

Yay!  Thanks for the update!  My gelding had surgery with Dr. Honnas in Texas on March 1st and is still in the stage of stall rest for another week.  Stitches came out yesterday with the staple in a few more days.  My gelding is young and only had about 60 rides on him last year as a two year old.  I hope to get back on a training schedule when he is healed.  Keep the updates coming, I look forward to them!

My filly had KS surgery end of January. $2400 out the door including 3 day after care hospitalization and meds. She had 2 spots touching and one in front and behind those 2 spots that were close. My bet doesn't stitch the towel to the back bc he said it pulls the skin making it more painful. She's recovering nicely and standing square all the time instead of with a back resting leg.
