Found this blog -- she does make some interesting points. I will likely watch just to see what the fuss is about.

Look, I know that most overnight barrel races are just a huge party. And of course there's drama all around, it's a sport dominated by women. We're catty by nature.

But these girls look more plastic than Barbie. I mean, yes, some girls like to dress up & look nice. But geez. How much eye makeup does one person need?

I just love how A&E can have a show like Duck Dynasty, all wholesome & great (that they make a HUGE profit on thanks to all 500 million items with the DD name on it) then have this show right behind it.

And I wonder who will get more ratings........Oh well. That's the nature of the beast.

jbw tx mom - 2013-11-20 4:42 PM @ fatchance - I would love to see a real reality show with the best of the best - however I would not even want to watch the hours and hours of driving, cleaning poop and actual hard work these ladies put in that are anything but bling.
If it's an hour program, minus 20 minutes for commercials pretty sure the pro's can fill a 40 minute spot. (no driving and or poop)

What I would love people to see is how the pro's get through Cowboy Christmas, how they fly from place to place to link up with ground crew and their horses.
Most do not know what it takes to make it the NFR, I think watching how you strive to do so would be good TV.

I so agree !!!! Schiller ranch did a day with Brittany Pozzi and it was only 7 minutes long ....but it was sooooo good.........I would love to watch a show like that, that is why Relentless was so good but you don't see that show coming back, because that is not wear the market is at sadly .......

I know reality tv is not reality and is scripted including Duck Dynasty. I wonder why Duck Dynasty is the most popular reality program on tv over pretty much everything else out there. They've got something there & it would seem other reality shows would follow the format like Duck Dynasty.??

I think part of the reason DD is so popular is because the guys on it are so dang funny.  Jase and Si are natural born entertainers and so is Phil.  I could live without the rest of the cast and wouldn't even watch it if it weren't for Jase, Phil and Si.  I don't really care if a show is trashy or not but I can't stand most of the reality shows because they aren't even entertaining they are just stupid and the people in them act like morons.  Another one I liked was the guy with the car dealership, it was pretty entertaining too.

You are probably right. Humor goes a long way. I do like the restoration type reality shows............ Restoring cars, collectables, or houses.

I really think barrel racing stuff is only interesting to barrel racers.  That's why we have to all talk about it on the internet, everyone else is sick of listening to us.

Haha For sure. I never talk barrel racing with friends who aren't barrel racers. To them horses are like big dogs. That's it. I know my audience. LOL

I'm a massive insomniac. As such, I tend to sit outside of my trailer at night while at the barrel races and rodeos. I read, watch TV, whatever. A friend of mine who is also an insomniac introduced me to her favorite game "Who spent the night where they shouldn't have?". Seriously, if you're awake at about 4 or 4:30 A.M., you can see all sorts of people sneaking out of LQ's and dressing rooms "before anyone else wakes up". Now certainly there are some girls in the Top 15 that I would not expect this sort of behavior from. Some of them are more established in their lives, travel with their husbands/families, etc... There are certainly younger girls on the NFR trail however, that are single and enjoy many of the things that the "gypsy" lifestyle of rodeo allows for.

I would love to know what anyone in, say the top 20 in the world say of this.  I'm trying to picture Sherry Cervi or Christy Loflin acting or doing this kind of stuff and it is a hard mental picture.  Not saying it doesn't happen, I would just like to know and would really like to know from some of those girls.

Well...I have enough mutual friends with both the gals that you named, I feel I can say with total certainty that neither of them act like that in real life, nor would they pretend to on national tv. Can't speak for the others.

Sometimes my dog asks to be let out then, or I'll hear something in the barn n quick check on the horses lol

They did say in the pre-view that they rodeo with some of the most "notorious" girls on the circuit.

I have a friend that ran into them and their film crew alot through out the summer, she said they had a knack for parking next to here LOL. Anyway, she said what she saw was all very scripted, but I think we already knew that.

WRECK!

Sadly, because it is such a train wreck most people won't be able to resist watching it.
