So I'll go ahead and let the cat out of the bag. I know who owns this mare. But I would first like the know what the OP's intentions are before I release this persons name. Are you going to try to buy this mare? And if so, are you capable of taking care of her properly?

I hesitate to speak for the OP....but I think that, at this point from what she has written, she just wants to know that the mare has a "good" home? Additionally, I remember through her BHW threads at that time (when she was selling) she was going through some bad times......

And I completely understand that. If that's the case I have no problem giving her name out :)

I wouldn't give the current owner's name to the OP...I'd offer to pass the OP's name/number on to the current owner...and let HER decide if she wants any contact.

Suffice to say it sounds like the horse is in a good place now.

I think theres a reason why the current owner dont want to answer the OP's email.. The mare looks wonderful, I also think shes in a good place too. Maybe the OP will come on here and set things straight.. Edit to add: theres is always two sides of the story

Okay, check it out.... I will clear the air. Yes, the mare was thin. As I have stated her, in this thread. And, I am sure Candice won't say that I TOLD HER she was thin or, the vet records I produced showing WHY she was thin. The mare was hauled 5800 miles on a semi truck, going from completely and totally wild too, domesticated, per se. She got shipping fever, she had ulcers, she had an abscess in her face. I spent thousands of dollars on the mare all while my son's father was dying from leukemia. Did I do right by the mare? I did my absolute best to try and help her the best I could, financially. Am I in a better place in life? Absolutely. Yes, Candice Scott King bought the mare, from me. She then sold the mare in September of 2016, after signing a contract stating she would not and if she did, the mare came back to me, at the original price of sale. This mare was bought for me, by my son's father, who is now deceased. I would like to know she is okay. And, if at all possible, buy her back to give her to my son. Since, that was the last purchase Mike made before he passed away. Sooooo..... Before everyone goes to pointing fingers about a horse being thin.... stop and think that maybe there is a legitimate reason behind it. And, I can produce proof that I did as I could to help her - vet records, receipts, dental receipts, etc.

YES. Candice DOES NOT OWN THIS HORSE. I have tried and tried and tried to explain this. I came here, looking for help. And, even in the beginning of this thread, explained the mare was thin.

Updated picture of the mare attached to this.

?UPDATE -  I spoke with Janae Massey fromt he Youree Ranch and also Kylie Youree. They do not have this mare. Have never had her. So, it is back to square one. If anyone knows of this mare, has seen her, owns her, whatever, please... let me know. If you want to keep it a secret, you can PM me. I don't mind. I will spend all the money in the world to get this mare back. This mare is my heart. I sold her, when I shouldn't of had, when I was in a very bad place in my life. The mare had some health issues when she was sold. She is ulcer prone, had ulcers when I had her.

All I see is she had health issue and had ulcers? Not seeing anything about being thin?

Okay...I will elaborate. When she arrived to me, she was very sick with shipping fever. So, 10 days of antibiotics. She went off her feed. She lost quite a bit of weight. Got her on the right track again. She developed ulcers. I had her scoped. Went off her feed, again. Lost a ton of weight, very quickly. Vet contributes the ulcers to the change in environment - being brought from Jenner, AB, Canada in the middle of July, to NW Panhandle of FL. Got her back on the right track, gaining weight. She got kicked in the face, abscess. Off her feed, yet again. Back on the right track. Any little thing would make this mare go off of her feed then.
?I know I am not the only person who has had a horse have health issues and them come off their feed and lose weight. I can understand if it was neglect. It was not, in no way, neglect. I have vet records, reports, everything I need to cover my ass and prove my horses are well taken care of. Anyone who knows me and has seen my horses can vouch for that.

I am sorry that you have not found anything out about your mare. It seems that you tried to cover your bases.  I hate hearing that someone would not honor the buy back option.

I hear you on a horse changing looks quickly by a health condition - I had a horse that cut his leg, severed artery, a week later I went to the vet to see him, knowing that he was given a small chance of ever walking again - I started panicing in the back stall row, because I couldn't find my horse and thought he didn't make it. But actually, I walked right by him and did not even recognize him.  Prayers that everything turns out good.

Agreed.....they can lose a TON of weight in a very short time if ill. I had one colic and stayed at the vet for a week. When a couple of local barrel racers went to check on him for me, they didn't even recognize the horse. I also, just think it was a little "tacky" to post "Candice's remarks"......why do that?

I think anyone who has had horses for any length of time knows how fast one can crash weight wise. I had a gorgeous horse shipped from Washington to Kentucky arrived weighing 1400lbs in June. I had him about a month when he hurt himself in the pasture. We honestly thought he broke his back leg. Spent a week at the vet, had a fever of 104, and dropped so much weight in that time I was embarrassed to show folks pictures Iggy is progress (with walking on that leg) I think between the humidity/heat change, diet change, fever, and then the leg injury, he just crashed. In Aug I bet you he didn't even weigh 950lbs. It took some time but he's now back up to a "fighting" weight and doing great.

My hope is that someone can put you in touch with her current owner and then the two of y'all could talk and see what develops. I absolutely think you deserve that opportunity. I've rescued dogs before and been scared I might get turned in for neglect before I got them looking like living animals again. So I can understand having extenuating circumstances. . . .

In all honesty, it quite humiliated me for that to be posted. We, as horse people, should know.... one can crash very quickly. This mare had it rough, I will say that. She went from being almost totally wild, out on pasture. To be ran into a cattle squeeze gate to get a halter on her, ran into a trailer, and, then, everything else. It was so hot and humid the day she got off the trailer. She was pouring sweat within minutes. Two days later, I go out to check on her.... nasty green snot nose, coughing, the works. Vet out immediately. It didn't help the mare had never had grain before me and, wouldn't eat for a few days. I agree.... it was a bit tacky to post that. If anyone wants to see my horses, feel free to come and look at them. All UTD on shots, worming, dental, farrier, coggins, health certificates, the works. All of mine always have been. And, for Candice to post that, after I told her EVERY SINGLE TEENY TINY DETAIL of everything I knew about the mare and what should had been through.... well, it appalls me.  How can people lie that way? I would never lie about a horse.... been in that situation and it almost got me killed. If any of you have ever had a horse have shipping fever, an abscess, or even ulcers.... most would know, some quit eating. They lose weight, they will look rough. This mare went from weighing in at around 1100 pounds... to maybe 800 pounds, quickly. I was so embarassed. I felt so bad. So guilty. This mare.... well, she means the world to me. That was the last purchase Mike, Memphis's father ever made and, she was bought for me as a late birthday present. When he got sick, I had to sell everything. Her, my grandson of Smart Little Lena, my trailer, saddles, everything. I had to support my family, pay medical bills and, provide for a small child, considering Memphis was only about 6 months old when his father got diagnosed with leukemia. I just want to know where she is at, that's all. I want to see how she is doing. I'd love to see her in person. If the owner would like to sell her, I would buy her back, in a New York minute. For almost any amount of money.

There's always two sides to the story, that's why we shouldn't be so quick to judge. Obviously she did the right thing by selling the horse because her husband had cancer and they were in over their head probably with medical bills etc. I think she put the horses best interests first by selling her so she could get the attention she needed and she's clearly setemential to her and her son.

Maybe if the new owner understood those circumstances she could at least share with the OP that the mare is okay and being well take care of and that if they sell she would like her back. Unfortunately the "first buy back clause" never works, even with written contracts, unless you're willing to take that person to court which will cost more money and there's no guarantee You'll get the horse back, once you sell a horse they're gone and it's out of your hands. All you can do is pray and hope that the horse is being well taken care of and move on. If it's meant to be it's meant to me!

How long ago did you sell this mare? Calling someone a little crazy because they wont return your emails tells me that there is a little history between the two of you.

I sold the mare in either 2014, I believe. I would have to go back and double check all of my records. Actually... no history between us. She quit returning my messages after she sold the mare. Before, she was the one that was messaging me, etc. about Lexi.... after she sold her, nothing. I find the whole situation quite fishy, honestly. If I sold a horse I bought from anyone.... I would have no qualms with telling the original owner that I did sell the horse, where she is, why I sold her, etc.

I am sure she knows your looking for her .. but the thing is she hasnt been in touch with you for reasons we dont know so personally you should just let it go .. she might be  doing well if shes running barrels again.. The mare is hers now and if she wants to chat with you I can bet she can find you to do that :)  but to continue posting and searching is short of harassment  I think? its been a few years...
she has no obligation to tell you who bought her .. its not fishy she might just not want you to bother or harass new owner? if they want to contact you they will.. sucks I know but thats just how it is...
