Location: MIssissippi | I am so happy to hear these positive updates!!!!
But at the same time it makes my heart hurt to hear about this lovely 18yo girl struggling to simply give a thumbs up and a kiss. Right when she should be at one of the most active times of her life she is in a hospital fighting for her life. And still is in a very real way. She is fighting to regain as much normalcy as possible.
I don't know quite how to say what I'm thinking.... I rejoice w/the family to know that Chelsea is slowly, but surely, recovering. At the same time my heart is devastated to know this vibrant young girl will never quite be the same again. All of us have life experiences that change us forever, I'm so sorry that Chelsea's had to be this violent and permanently life-changing.
God works in His own way and in His own time. He has a plan for Chelsea and there will be good to come of this horrible accident. We can't see it right now, but we can trust that it's so.
We can trust Him.
Chelsea... Happy late birthday to you, and I am proud to hear you're doing so well. I pray you continue to recover and I know your family will be there for you... a strong encouraging presence in your life.

| I have to agree with fourh mom....this has been a life changing event for Chelsea...reading your reality of it all made me write this...Chelsea's situation has been hard for me because I have been down that path. March of 1992 (I think) not real good with dates. I call it my life changing moment. FOr the longest time I was angry with God that he made me survive....now I am sooooo grateful! I count my blessings every day. My life is totally different but so totally better. The only thing I have from that life is my horses they brought me back and I am totally devoted to them. My friends even changed so I am hoping to be one of CHelsea's newest fans....when she get back to her life I want to still be on this site cheering her on...if I could do it I know she can! SO lets keep the prayers going and the words of encouragement and to Sally...mom's are so special and in a situation like this they make all the difference in the world...hugs to you!!! SOnja is a great friend not just to Chelsea but to all of us for keeping us posted because....we all care!!! Come on Chel show us what you got!!!! |

Location: Near San Antonio, TX | I am so glad that she was smiling! What an ordeal for the whole family to have to endure. So, Chelsea has been "puckering up" to kiss, and smiling, wiggling fingers/hands and toes/feet? I am so glad! Have the doctors said much about her long term prognosis? I know that a head injury takes alot of time, but is she is being responsive, and recognizing, and smiling, I am so hopeful! I check this post daily, multiple times for positive updates! This girl is in my heart! |
