wyoming barrel racer - 2010-11-27 2:29 PM Would it be Ok if I posted these addresses on my facebook? I have several people that would love to send something to soldiers. Or do you know where I can find lists/addresses for people to send packages to soldiers? I just posted-This Christmas, please send a soldier a care package and have gotten alot of responses

Yes righ now it's just like a secret Santa haha but the thing about waiting is I get a new name everytime he calls because he meets alot of new marines and by dec 9 I can probably have names.. So maybe you could make up a box and as I get names I can post them and if I don't then you can just send them and my husband will pass them out either way is fine! Just your preference I suppose lol I send all mine to my husband and he gives them to them that way they know he is also part of me giving back to them! That's my idea not his lol..
zelma - 2010-11-27 4:48 PM
StephanieNE - 2010-11-27 5:37 PM   I would like to send something! But I'm slightly confused.... (imagine that) Do I just make a general gift box and send it to the address? No name in particular or indication as to who its from or what its for? Just a "Love, Santa" note?

I am confused too...let me know what to do and I am in.  I am glad to help!!

Ok you can do either.. You can mail it and have him give it to someone or wait until I get another name.. Either way someone who needs it will get it!! My husband will make sure of that we always send a whole box full and he gives 90% to people he says needs it more than him! He has a big heart and is always helping others so he will make sure your boxes go to people who need them!!
zelma - 2010-11-27 5:08 PM

I am waiting for a specific name then or am I just send to the address in the first post???  So confused lol!!!  Great idea-thanks for letting us help!!!

I believe if you sent to the addy posted and put.. to a needy soldier from santa...  that they will distribute them out..  no names needed or send to her hubby and put to a needy soldier love santa. thats how it worked last year.

Running Roan - 2010-11-27 1:31 PM So if we just want to send some general gifts that can be handed out to anyone, just mail them to the address in your first post on December 9th?

Yes!! Or if some of you want to make sure they go to people who really need them send them to my husband LCpl Joseph Gaddy then proceed with the following address..He will make sure they get them!! Just make sure you include a sheet of paper with a memo saying its for someone who needs it!!

Here is the way we are going to address our package to our Mystery Marine... (see the little inset on the address)... this way LCpl Gaddy will know what to do without having to open the box!!

We will include a Christmas card inside to our Marine with all of our signatures!!

We are having a Barrel race 12/4-5 in Sweetwater our Association wanted to do something to help needy people this year, thought about a food drive but after reading your thread. I think this is such more needed. God Bless these people that serve, sacrifice, and give so freely and get nothing in return, some not even a thank you. However it may be your husbands platoon may be covered on this, I will keep your information and contact our recruiting office and see if they know of any that need this, that perhaps they have no one in their platoon that has thought to do this for those who get nothing while over there. Please PM me if you need more or your husband knows of other platoons that could use care packages.

I went shopping today. I got alot of stuff. Was thinking maybe I could send a package to an individual, and send a group package for people to share goodys & take what they need/like. I dont know if I got all the right things, but some of the stuff I got is useful some is just because.

What are the best kinds of socks to get? I will try to get some stuff put together by then, but I live a ways from a Walmart. I can put all kinds of snack stuff together from our gorvery store though...with wipes and deo, toothbrush etc. I pm'd you, but I prefer to get someone that doesn't normally get things. Makes my heart smile to know I can make a difference.

I got the cotton thermal socks in the hunting/sportingg section @ walmart. I think I am going to get some regular tube socks to send as well.

I never thought to ask if there are any women serving with your husband? I only got stuff for men. I had 2 female cousins in the army & used to send them stuff, I have to do more shopping if there are any women. Please let us know. Thankyou.
