SG. - 2011-02-14 8:02 PM No offense... It was what I read on their website.  I know you have to be disabled for 6 months for it get started and it has to last at least 12.  Sorry I wasn't clear on that... But you need to get it started now on the application process so that you can have everything ready in place.

But I know guidelines also vary some from state to state... But  Yaya, please tell De to get thist started asap.!!!

CONtinued prayers for Ryon! and for Momma De
Ok, thanks, I was curious.  You know I didn't even know that was on their site, I worked for the DAS, used to be the DDS or is still called that in some states.  Anyhow, those are great links you posted for them, they give a lot of great detail about the process without filling up the page like I did, hehe!!

Yes, SG is right, please start this asap!!  This can be done separately from any personal injury claim, I had claimants that had pending Worker's Compensation claims and we were still able to process their claim.

Ok, I'm done now back to what this post is for, my thoughts are with Ryon and his mom!!

Nope Tough this is exactly what this family needs right now as well...
It is called love and support so please share anymore valuable insight as well...
They need all BHW can offer....
Thanks for helping and caring and praying

Prayers for Ryon and thanks to Tough & SG for great info.  My son went through brain surgery last summer so I know how hard it is to even think at a time like this, your information is priceless.  My prayers were answered so I know the power of prayer works.

Thanks, ladies, for all the info.  I'll discuss this with De tomorrow.  First & foremost, though, she has to have access to a computer!  So, we're working on that.

God Bless!

one more suggestion: make photo copies of everything you fill our, or submit. copy every single page. and write down names of people you contact, dates and time. be very vigilant in keeping track of everything you do and to whom you have spoken to. that was so nice of the poster (toughenough) to explain the info and time lines. and SG, those sites to go to may prove very helpful. continued prayers for Ryon.

BHW Family!......today is a beautiful day in Little Rock.  I went home last night to do some laundry and sleep in my bed!  Ryon's fiancee came to Little Rock to spend Valentine's Day with him.  I got back up here a little after noon.

Ryon is doing good.  He is having some pain, (managing with meds) but they are sitting him up in a chair 4 hours a day, and he has started PT.  He is going to be working on getting his arms/shoulders and hands stronger.  They finally have his kidney infection under control, and his lungs are clearing up now that I turned the air back on in his air mattress.  (yes, it was unbelieveable

I am in the hospital resource room now, I have been reading up on applying online for SSI Disability.  I have to get a few things together before I can start the application for Ryon.  (and yes, Ryon has called his attorney)

yes, we will get thru this with the Lord's help!

Thank you all for the love and continued prayers ya'll are sending our way.  Love to all.........

I'm so glad to see you post, De!

When Adriann was in the hospital and in such serious condition, the hospital staff did do an amazing job but, even then, there were several things and ideas that we had or noticed...or caught...that might have gone otherwise unnoticed or undone.  You guys are that extra set of eyes that help ensure nothing is missed.  I kept a journal and that came in handy several times over the course of her recovery.  It helped me, as well, because the whole thing just gets very exhausting and it is sometimes hard to remember one day from another.

Did I miss the 4 broken vert. update?  I need to go back and reread.....

You all remain in our prayers!!

Hello from the Resource Room at UAMS!  We are doing good.  They are weaning Ryon off of some pain killers and meds, getting him ready to go to a rehab facility.  So far, none are taking us..........so I'm not gonna worry about it anymore,  God will put us where he wants us.  I have no doubt.

I applied for Ryons SSI disabiliy online today, it was not as bad as I thought it was gonna be........

Our social worker did contact teh Texas Rehibilitation Commission, and they said, sorry, wish we could do something............

Ok, headed back up to be with Ryon, I know he thinks I've abandoned him, been down here all morning!
hugs, and love to you all.......

Susi.........Ryon said that they were not concerned about those vertabraes........they could have been an old injury?  who knows, he has rode those ole horses when he was younger, and got darted into the ground more than once on those calf horses when he was a kid........They did not seem to think that his back was a concern.

I have been keeping a journal also.......you are right, hard to remember one day to the next.......it all runs together.
thank you so much for the continued prayers.......
all of you!

Ha!  I can believe that, with regard to the old injuries!!  I had a foot problem recently and finally went into the dr. & they took some film.  Came back & said, "Ummm....you have 5 old fractures in that foot.  They aren't the problem, but they're there."  It happened with a shoulder injury, too.  Same situation.  The response, "Uh, do you have any idea when you fractured that collarbone?  It's old & healed.  But it's ugly." Yes.  Horses are grand!

I'm so very thankful that you have had some bright spots in Ryon's progress to lighten the difficult burdens.  Keep your sense of humor and laugh at every opportunity...even if some people look at you funny.....
