| Thank you to everybody that voted for me! And also for all of the nice comments that you made about me. Gunny was very special to me. My picture is of me riding Gunny, if you look closely, it looks as though he is smiling at the camera! He loved his job and I loved him. Thanks to Cowgirl Tuff and BarrelHorseWorld for offering this contest. |

Thank you to everybody who voted for her, I am sure that she will be on here later to thank everybody personally. You don't know how much this will mean to a little girl.
Congrats!!!!!! So very proud of her!!!

I just found out that I was one of the winners in the Cowgirl Tuff contest! I haven't even looked to see who won and just wasn't expecting it to be me! This afternoon I got a phone call from Barrel Horse World that let me know I had won the 35 and over division with my story about barrel racing despite going through chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer! I was very surprised and VERY excited!! THANK YOU EVERYONE who voted for my story! I think I'm most excited that my story has had the opportunity to encourage women to get their mammograms (yes, that' show mine was found) and to let anyone and everyone know that cancer doesn't have to own your dreams. I was able to show my doctors, and many women I've raced with the last 10 months, that breast cancer and chemotherapy can't stop a cowgirl who rides a great horse!
My best news is that NO CANCER WAS FOUND when I had surgery the end of January. The chemotherapy treatments -and the many prayers prayed for me - worked! I have been declared cancer free! Thank you Lord - and thank you friends and family for the many, many prayers sent up for me. I was lifted by the prayers, strengthened by my horse and passion for barrel racing and healed by my Lord and Savior!!
So, let us always "Run with perserverance the race before us!" (Hebrews 12:1) with courage, determination and strength. Thank you all again for taking the time to read my story and vote for me. I'm honored.
FYI, my last name is "Dunham". I get called Durham a lot - I think its that an "r" and "n" look alike!
