Any insight?

I'm looking at ordering a Triple Creek saddle.

Last night I was able to sit the above mentioned brands on Mr Max. The Billy Cook and Circle Y set down too far and pinched. My RS was also pinching (fair enough, the horse had no top line when I bought it).

The Bronco Billy's fit pretty well.

So - the RS site states QH bars
Bronco Billy's states full qh bars.

I know that there is no industry standard, so anyone have any sage words of advice? Any experience? I would not consider the horse wide, he's got a fair amount of wither on him.

I'm working on them getting a tree to me, which one do I ask for, regular or full? I've never fit just a tree before, what do I need to be looking for in terms of shoulder clearance?

If they set down to far do you think they were too wide? My Corriente is a bit too wide and I have to use the biofit pad with it. I like the looks of the Triple Creek. Can you send them pics of your horse. You may only need semi qh bars. ?????

That's what I'm thinking. The Billy Cook was a Greenville TX one which I know know run wide.

It threw me off when the Bronco Billy site said full QH bars, since that one fit him best. I think I'll have them send me a regular

If you go to the Triple Creek website they have a list of names for there reps. I am in Florida and the gentleman came out with different size trees and fit my horse prior to me ordering my Triple Creek. They have alot of different options and can pretty much make to fit about any horse. Give em a call

I have both a Bronco Billy's and 2 Triple Creek. My Triple Creeks are both "Regular" quarter horse bars. My BB is a 6 3/4 gullet Which I think they will call a full QH bars. I think they fit differently than each other. But not necessarily that one is wider than the other. I think the flare of the bars etc is a little different. I would say that between the two of them the BB sits down a tad lower. I think you would be better off measuring the gullets.... I know that BB makes 7 inch gullets as well. Probably no help huh? ;)

Yeah I've been talking with Lynn. They'll send me a tree to try first, but I'm in Iowa and no where near a rep that could come help me.

Thank you tamio! That was exactly the kind of advice I was looking to. I think a regular triple creek tree will be perfect then, because I felt maybe the bb was still a little low on him, but not as low as the rest.
