Location: Texas | I STILL will use a personal trainer. I had some specific goals in mind due to a (ahem) procedure and have been using one since August twice a week. It runs about $50/hour. It's hit or miss with good trainers though. Thankfully, there are a lot of options in my area. |

I was working out really well for about 6 months then I kinda took a nose dive. I'm thinking this may keep me more motivated. This trainer works with a lot of my friends, and they all look fantastic. I can only go for about 30 minutes two days a week, which I think is $27 per session with 1/2 hour. I'm starting school up again for my Master's and will have to work it in before night classes start. |

Location: Kansas | My best friend uses a personal trainer 5 days a week, he charges $35 an hour. She has lost quite a bit of weight since she first started using him, I'm considering getting a trainer as well. |

Location: North Dakota | If you can afford a personal trainer, do it. It is so nice to know that THAT DAY you must go work out because you have an appointment with your trainer. And you don't have to worry about what you are going to go at the gym, because the trainer will have it planned out for you. And you don't have to worry about looking like an idiot working out in front of people because guess what? Your trainer is going to make you do it anyway!
All personal trainers are different, so make sure you find one you like. You do want a trainer that will push you a little bit, because that's what gives you an extra edge for weight loss and muscle toning.
I've never had atrainer on a regular basis, but I've taken random personal training sessions here and there. Total, I've worked with 5 or 6 different ones. Each had a different philosophy and different methods, so it was actually very beneficial to see those different sides. I've paid anywhere from $30 to $60 an hour. Kinda depended on the location. |

Location: Florida | I use a personal trainer 3 times a week for 30 minutes and its $25 a session. She spends the 30 minutes with me on weights and then tells me what cardio to do afterwards. I can already tell I couldn't do it without her driving me, because on the days she has had to cancel I don't work out nearly as hard.
Also, I have been doing it for 3 months and made really good progress. I don't feel like I am killing myself with some unreasonable diet, but am definitely making healthier choices. |

| If I could afford it, I would do it. I NEED someone to come and pick me up and force me to workout. Otherwise, most times, I talk myself out it. My Lazy Angel on my shoulder is quite persuasive.... |

Location: West River - SoDak | Yeah! I'm so excited for you! I am a certified PT and I can tell you there is no "one size fits all" program for physical wellness. Working one on one with a personal trainer will typically push you 30% further in your workout than you would working out on your own. Some people really need that one on one interaction, while others can get the same results meeting with a trainer once a week or once every other week just to keep on track with an independent program.
Feel free to PM me! Good luck! |

| I use to be a personal trainer... I use to go to my clients homes though.. I never trained anyone in the gym.. except when I was teaching spin classes. Majority of my clients were older and too intimidated to go to a gym. So I came to them. I charged $60 an hour... some had home gym equipment, some had nothing so I carried the basics around with me.. you'd be surprised how good of a workout you can get at home with minimal equipment! I ended up getting so busy I hired two other trainers under me to help out. Personal trainers are great for motivation and making you accountable. Chose wisely tho.. all my business came from word of mouth referrals.
Edited to add, it's definitely worth it... even I, a pt hired, a pt when it was time for my figure competitions! Always helps with that extra push you wouldn't push yourself to do lol!

Location: The best kept secret in TX | My brother is a personal trainer and charges $150/week. He has some people who come for 1-2 hours 7 days a weeks, and others who only come for 30mins two days a week. (So it's about $22 a day if you go 7 days a week.)
He said he sets his prices so high and only charges by the week because it motivates people to come more often and stay longer. He gives them a meal plan customized for that week and trains people for body building and other competitions. I thought it was a great idea to charge for the week. Makes it cheaper for those who go often. He's located in Northeast Oklahoma.

That's a really cool idea! The package I'm looking at is 30 sessions for $35 ea. Each session is 30 minutes. It would definitely be an investment! |

| I must be really lucky. I use a group trainer and we typically have 2 to 5 working out at the most. If it is only me I pay $16.00 for half an hour. The prices vary by how many are in the group that day, but no more than $16.00 for an hour and no less than $10.00 for an hour. I've been with the same trainer for over 7 years. I met her through a boot camp class at the local gym. Boot camp was taught by 4 different trainers for 6 weeks. At the end of 6 weeks, the gym didn't offer another boot camp until a month later. I wanted to continue working out and ask the trainer if working with her was an option. It was and I am still with her. I love my trainer. |

| I just started working out again with my friend who's a personal trainer/ex-bull rider/colt starter. I like working out with him more than other trainers because 1) I know him and it's ok for him to laugh at me 2) he pushes me harder because he knows how bad I want to reach my goals and 3) because her rides and knows what muscles I need to work on to go fast. It's hard. I get sore. I'm always late because I really don't want to go but if he can make the commitment to my fitness why can't I. I was always one of those well I'll start Monday kind of people but the best thing to do is just start now. I can already tell a difference in myself and it's just been 2 weeks. We work out 3 times a week |
