Although the race track may not think so! HEHE! Hey, good for you, LRQHS. I can just imagine track security, "We got a bunch of women trying to make it to the owner's box...they keep shouting something about 'Beer' and 'BHW.' We are going to need some back up down here ASAP!"
That would be cool to watch! I love horse racing! :)
Then I could say, "I know who owns that horse!" I'm thinking that is exactly how that would go! LOL
I was just thinking the same thing....she needs to let us know when her first colt runs.....we can ALL be there for the PARTY....hope her owner's box hold a hundred or so screaming women........ |

Location: DUMPING CATS AND PIGS IN TEXAS :) | One of the best times I've ever had was when one of the foals that I sold was racing. In Louisiana, we get breeder's awards even after we've sold the horse if they win 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a Louisiana Accredited race in the state. The breeder's incentive is twenty something percent of whatever the purse for the race is. I've won over $2000 at a time for races that my sold babies raced in, so it can be pretty exciting. Anyways, I was working in the ER at that time and a bunch of my co-worker's came to Evangeline Downs. We got four tables on the window in the restaurant. None of them knew anything about horses. They were asking me my picks, some where betting colors, some were betting numbers or would pick a horse they thought was pretty lol.....we had buckets of beer delivered to the tables and were eating fried pickles. It was awesome! Someone would win every race...usually more than one and they would buy more beer with there winnings. My filly came out third. A lot of us went down to the wire for her race and I just remember being so excited and having so many friends with me. She walked right in front of us going to the paddock and everyone was so impressed with her. It just was a great, great night. I would love to do it again.

It won't be too much longer lol. I have a just turned 2 year old filly that will be a distance horse. Hopefully, towards the end of the year, she'll be ready. And, I have two I'm saving for next year. One is the one in my avatar. She's the cousin to PJ Chick in Black. I would be the happiest girl on the planet if some of you could make it down for a race :) |

It's so exciting to watch one that you bred and raised go to the track.

So, are you trying for 300 yard, 400 yard, 450 yard, or 600 yard racers? What distance when you say longer? The 600 yard races here are a lot of fun because they can be TB or QH...I especially love it when the QH's beat the TB's. :-) I love TB's though too...any horse racing is fun. :-) |

The 600 yard races here are a lot of fun because they can be TB or QH...I especially love it when the QH's beat the TB's. :-) I love TB's though too...any horse racing is fun. :-) The 2 year old and her yearling sister are from the same dam. I put them for sale sometimes on my Facebook page, but my goal is to race them. They are out of my one TB mare, Bluffin Rail. She raced in a few QH races. She would run 4 1/2 to 6 furlongs. She ran for $93,000, had 43 starts, 7 wins, 6 seconds and 4 thirds. Earning $2166 per start. So, they will, hopefully be my 870 yd horses...fingers crossed. I know they are fast and they are mean lol. The filly in my avatar should be a shorter distance horse. Her dam has had 3 to race, 2 stakes winner's, 3 winner's and 2 with SI >100. So, we'll see :) She has a brother that is up to $97,000 now.
Here's Rail's equibase record.

ETA: LOL, y'all have me all excited talking about race horses now. I wanted to add that Bluffin Rail, even with all of those outs, retired 100% sound. Hard to believe.
