Location: Wyoming- where its always windy! | Has anyone had experience with this cross? I'm looking to breed my cutting bred mare (Peponita/Poco Bueno... Don't worry, already tested for HERDA) to a nice, local 4 yo stud who is by Streakin Sixes out of a JOH/ Johnny Boone cross mare. I've watched the stud work and he seems really even tempered and highly athletic. Just looking for any input on his lines, good or bad. Thanks! |

Location: Somewhere in N.C. | I have a granddaughter of Jet of Honor / granddaughter of Packin Sixes mare. She is 10 years old this year. AWESOME horse....great temperment, very laid back, smart, business when needed. I gave her this year off and bred her to SunFrost Wonder. Can't wait to see how that turns out. Never heard anything bad about Jet of Honor or Streakin Six horses. |

| Sounds good to me. I think Johnny Boone is a nice broodmare sire. |

| Jet of honor's are workers and barrel turners i have rode or owned at least 5or 6 and they have good minds, very trainable. The only downfall as they can be a little bucky, several of them that i either owned or rode would buck, one would hump if you have not rode him in a while but if you just troted him hard when you got on he would not, the sceond horse would do the samething but you could lunge her and once she would lunge he she would have one buck fit each way took all of five minutes any 10 year old kid could lunge that one out. The last one i sent to be started the guy that started him was a rodeo roughstock rider in his early days, but no longer. He worked him saddled him got him to,stage of riding he acted quiet so the man got on him he broke in too so hard he blacked his eyes and the saddle came off over his head. He worked him for a week then snubbed him to another horse and slid on him and kepted him snubbed, well finally got that guy broke. also, another one i got in to train about 15 years ago it was a lady bug moon and jet of honor she was trak broke rode her for, about 2 weeks all of a sudden she reared staight up, i mean look down and see ground when i touched her back she went to bucking threw me like i have never ben thrown before, i was out of commission for 3 months. |

Location: Peg-Leg Julia Grimm | I have a couple of dozen HAB kids sold to people across the NW. Some of them have 3, 4 and 5 of them. They have told me they are the easiest horses to break, kind, sweet and good work ethic. They are starting to run them here and they are working barrels well. The first 5 year old o/o my FG daughter has raced 3 times and won 2. Another one will be running as a 4 year old this year. I bought one filly back from someone, I sent her to a guy to ride and she never bucked one jump after being turned out for 6 months. There are 3 of them out of a Peppy San Badger granddaughter that were the easiest of that mares babies to start. The other 1 isn't old enough yet. He's a yearling.
The only one (a son of JOH) I ever heard of that bucked was locked in a stall for weeks on full feed and then stepped on without exercising first. He did uncork and buck the lady off.
I saw a bunch of JOH horses at the track on a daily basis and never saw any of them acting up. They will sure get a reputation at the track because everyone can see them every day. No flippers among them.
As far as Johnny Boone, I've never had one. But I did have a daughter of another Rebel Cause son. She did buck when I was breaking her. But it was not something she continued to do after being ridden consistantly. She only did it when she was fresh. She was never a dirty bucker.
I also don't know much about S Sixes. Never had one. |

Location: Peg-Leg Julia Grimm | Oh and about the granddaughter of Rebel Cause. She was stubborn and wanted to do it her way always. We went round and round about that. But she ended up the best horse I ever threw my leg across. Athletic and fast as you would ever want. She taught me so much. |

Location: Wyoming- where its always windy! | I appreciate everyone's input. The couple of times I've been around this young stud I've been pretty impressed. I guess he was sent to a reining trainer to be started so I don't know exactly how that went but I guess the trainer liked him a lot. The few times I've been around him he's been quiet, even with having a few weeks off. I'm hoping he will cross well with my mare, I think this guy has a bright future. I'm excited to see how he does in the furturities and I'm pretty geeked to be breeding to him before he's a big deal. |

Location: Dunn, NC | I've had 7 Jet Of Honors so far, they are the most honest, hardworking, turning suckers out there, not a bucker out of the seven, no cheaters, no slackers... Sweet, kind, super trainable, intelligent thinkers, sensitive but not "over-reactive sensitive".... and mine have plenty of run too. I don't know about a cross on Streakin Six but I have a SS gelding here who can flat out fly and he's a turner too... I don't see why it couldn't be a great cross... |

Ditto to this. Sounds like it would be a great cross. I like Johnny Boone, as well. |
