So I also have some questions, this year i want to upgrade from my duramax, to something new around 2011 or 2012. Looking at another GM or Ford. Yikes buying a newer diesel seems scary with the problems people have. Any opinions on the  Ford 6.7  engine? Or stay away completely? How bout  trannys on them?

Just found out they are doing lifetime power train warranties on dodges for 2014. Thought that was pretty sweet.

My dad has a 2012 with the 6.7.  It's been a good truck for him, but at around 140,000 miles the dealy where you have to add the emissions stuff messed up.  I think it was the sensor in the system.  Anyway, it shut the truck down to idle.

The 6.7 is the way to go. Very few problems. They are a joy to drive. All trucks will have their issues, but they have been out there for 3 years and I haven't heard one horror story. My FIL drives the 6.7 exclusively, has not had one problem and he pulls a loaded 30 ft cow trailer every day.

Super Dutys are only offered with the automatic transmission. It's the 6R140 TorqShift six-speed.

We have a 2008 F450 with a 6.4 and they are known to have an oil leak and can have the engine cavitation issue.

My parents traded in my 6.uhoh and got me a 2014 F250… totally basic model- vinyl seats, manual locks and windows, extended cab. I LOVE IT. it gets GREAT mileage, like 22 on the highway and 18 in the city. Haven't hauled anything with it yet.
