Location: East Texas | It is 70 degrees here and raining. My barn is not built yet so horses are just out in the pasture. They are blanketed when it gets about 40 or below. My question is... they are of course wet and the temps are supposed to drop tonight, stay below 45 tomorrow and continue to rain all day. Will it hurt to blanket them later tonight while they are still wet? |

I wouldn't blanket them while they are wet, I would dry them off first. And only blanket them if the blanket is a heavy-duty waterproof one. If not, the blanket will just become wet and trap the water on the horse and do no good.

Location: East Texas | They are used to being out all the time, but most of the trees are bare and don't make a good wind break. Their blankets are waterproof and they stay warm and dry when it rains. My barn will be done in a few weeks and this won't be a problem again! |

Location: Ava, Missouri | Then I think that if you rub them down and dry them off first, they should be good! It would be great if you could put a cooler on under the blanket until they dry. |

^^^^^This. Towel dry and then blanket. They will finish drying with the blanket on if it's breathable, which I think nearly all of them are anymore. I'll be doing the same thing tomorrow. |
