My daughter has a Sundowner 4 h. w/ living quarters. It's a nice trailer and has held up very well. It pulls great, tracks true and the horses travel very well in it. She has had no issues what so ever with it. Hers is either a 2002 or 06, cant remimber which.

Could not give me one- oh wait - yeah if you gave me one I would hope it would haul to a dealership to trade in. Sorry, HATE sundowners - they are a downer

We have been pleased with ours, it is older though.  They aren't the best trailers on the road but there are much worse. I love that ours has drop downs on both sides and it 8ft wide, with a 8ft LQ. Pulls great, so I can't complain.

I had a 2000 that was a good trailer--I pulled it 13 years and it held up great.  Very little repair needed in the horse area over that period of time but more in the LQ, which I think is typical.  I've heard the newer ones aren't made as well, but don't know when they went down hill.  Mine was a Sunlite that was all aluminum except the axle box.

That's how I felt about mine. It was a middle of the road kind of trailer, but WAY nicer than some others I had. (Featherlite comes to mind)

Search and see if it is one of the years with frame issues. Some kind of coating they called "sun coat". It gave many people problems.

Yes, it does cause lots of problems.  It doesn't adhere well so moisture gets trapped under it and corrodes or rusts the floor and frame.  We have our frame checked once a year and have tried to peel all that crap off that we can.  We had it stripped off the floor and acid washed.

The older ones are very well built I wouldn't have anything past a 99. If they are a 7 series, like 727, they are the ones that were literally falling apart. Do your homework, but IMO I would pass. There are too many good ones out there in same price range that are way better trailers.

We have been happy with ours so far, but I'm paranoid because its a Sunlite 727 and I'm afraid from all of the stories out there about the frame rusting. I make my husband crawl under it all of the time, poor guy.

I've owned 3 and all 3 were good trailers but none had LQ so maybe that makes a difference. I've had a 4 horse, 2 horse bumper pull and now a 3 horse.

The 2005 has the suncoat and the steel frame, so it will be heavier than an all aluminum trailer....they are decent if you can get them way worth the money...that's the key because resale is not very good on them and we give less for Sundowners because a lot of customers don't want the steel frame.  They have more repairs on the doors and windows because of the flimsy latches, but like I said, it's all about getting it at a good price to begin with...you make money when you BUY...not when you sell.....
