I have always tried to be pretty healthy but decided to step it up to the next level. I dont feel like I am doing without, I have managed to make everything I ate before, but just healthy. I never loved bread, giving up black beans were probably the hardest for me. I love the energy I have, the way I feel and my workouts are 10 times better now. You can see the before and after pics of my sister and I on our website. Here is the link. I was never considered "big" but I lost over 20lbs and all the fluff is gone. I will still have some beers, try to get the gluten free kind.

Also check out Peace Love & Low Carb. She's got some pretty good recipes that if I remember correctly are Paleo often times. She has many board on pinterest with the ideas as well.
The hardest thing for me is dairy and potatoes. I love, LOVE my coffee with a bit of creamer in it and I love milk. I know how much better my skin and overall health would be if I could quit, but I don't want to give up that much, so I am pretty careful about moderation. Potatoes are my weakness. I love potatoes so much, in all forms. That's a hard one for me to kick! |

I agrree. It is a lifetyle. not a diet. I think so many people think it is a fad. But it isnt. it is just about eating real food that is healthy. I started 10/27 and feel so much better |

I agree. This is not a fad diet, it is a healthy lifestyle.
Polorunner...You do look fabulous! I wish I had started this 20 years ago. I can't imagine going back to how I was eating. It's wonderful not being hungry as I eat more now then I have in years and have lost weight.
I will say I have baked more in the last month then I have in almost 45 years of being married. There are all kinds of great recipes for people who don't want to give up baked goods. The huge difference is without the sugar in them you can eat just one and not crave more the more you eat like you do with sugar baked goods. |

Thank you. You are so right, we make banana bread once a week, have it with a hard boiled egg for breakfast. There are so many options! It takes being prepared, but I love going to the grocery now, takes about 10 minutes to get fruit, veggies, and meat. I order all my coconut and almond flour online or go to Trader Joes. I love that there are people on BHW that enjoy this lifestyle.  |

BleuIdGrl - 2014-02-02 7:31 PM I had a load of health problems, horrid chest pains that were I diagnosable, daily bloat Hausa and headaches, absolutely no energy, in able to sleep for more that 3 hrs at a time, along with breathing issues even though I'd had extensive testing all showing I had healthy lungs, AND hormone/cycle issues that had my dr thinking I was in early menopause...all of this started at the ripe old age of 20. I am now 26 and have been Paleo for just a few months. We're still keeping an eye on my monthly cycle but so far EVERYTHING has gotten solo much better. I am having no health problems what so ever. I can tell within minutes when I've eaten something that I'm not supposed to, but onetime you just gotta have some Cheetos lol I'm still learning how to revamp my recipiens but I'm enjoying trying and learning new things and I am so happy to say that I feel like the young woman I am instead of the old lady I had become. I hope this helps! It looks scary at first but it really isn't that hard at all. Good luck!
Glad you found out while you're so young instead of being miserable for years..
I was having sleep apnea and I was snoring..All of that ended within a few weeks of eating Paleo. I found out that sugar and sugar subsitutes are horrible for me.

I love paleomg!!! Pinterest was where I started when I decided to go paleo. I've switched coconut milk for creamer (which still doesn't hit the spot, but I deal with it) and personally love sweet potatoes made as hashbrowns! I don't miss white potatoes at all anymore. I can tolerate dairy, so I have a slice of cheese on occasion. Overall though, eating paleo has really helped my messed up gut! |

It really is. I started Paleo two days ago. Tonight I made Paleo Salted Carmel Cheesecake. OMG. Tooo die for.
But I'm still having sweet tea withdraws. It is not fun. ): |
