I just got my coming 6 year old back from the trainer. He's been home about 3 weeks now. I think this horse is a poster child for Cushings. My vet is doubtful in one this young, but we will see her later this week.

This is what I'm seeing:

Excessive drinking and peeing, at least double the others.
Long curly hair, patchy looking
Sweats easily, and kind of huffs and puffs with minimal exercise.

He is a happy, sweet boy and loves to ride...but?

Anyone ever seen one so young?

I would say it is cushings, I would eliminate all sugars and get onto a grass hay

Sounds like some kind of endocrine disorder. I would do some blood work no doubt. Best wishes!!
