hoofs_in_motion - 2014-02-24 3:34 PM My finished mare, I really really don't like people riding....unless they give me beer.

Colts, I pay $20 a ride.
For how long????
Normally 30 minutes to an hour....but then again it depends on how old that colt is, 4 year olds get put on the cattle.....they can be lightly ridden for 2 hours, then heavily worked for an hour.
lol....not 15 minutes and no sweat then?
LMAO that is not worth a ride LOL!!!!!!! I hope you told her to pucker up if she wanted that 20 bucks LOL
I gave it to her. I just said I'd call her if I needed her again. I didn't call.
Next time you get one that's track broke....make a trip to kansas...I've got a girlfriend who can put a SUPER NICE handle on a track broke horse. She has 2 now, that are 1D butt kicking barrel horses in my area.

Kansas??? That's a bit far.....

I take outside horses for conditioning.

I am fully booked with it.

I ride them 6 days a week with a break in the middle of the week, they are fed quality feed and checked on a few times a day. I do a square around the property so it adds up to about 6 miles, with a lot of long trotting and walking.

I charge quite a bit to do it but people pay for it because they do not want to do it themselves and people who know me know that I look after my horses.

Back when I was in high school I did that exact thing. I rode each one for 1-1.5hrs/day 4-5 x a week. Kept them clipped, bathed, and rode. I charged $25/hr. Demographically I was in the right place to get that, if I had lived in Oklahoma it would probably be about $15/hr for a teenager. Make sure the person you have riding for you really knows what they are doing. Some say they do and some actually do! Some of the people I rode for had specific workouts and plans they wanted me to follow, that actually made it easier for me because I knew exactly what they wanted and being a young teenager it eased the apprehension of "am I covering what they want, are they going to like the results, etc."

Yes, depending on the person and the price.

I've been approached about this but I had no idea what I'd charge. Now, I'm the one wanting it, but then again it depends on the person and price.

LRQHS - 2014-02-24 2:05 PM I would pay to have good, competent help that did what I asked. I haven't been able to find that yet.

I'd pay $10 a ride and I'd want you to actually ride the horse for let's say an hour at a time.

You look for the good help and I will look for a purple unicorn, rope halter to the winner, lol.

Seriously, there is a lot of bonding that goes on in those daily rides legging one up.  I would pay to send them to an aqua tred but not to ride something that I will be running.

Nope I wouldn't... if its training.. sure.. but not to be legged up. If I'm that lazy I don't need to have horses.
