| Just was wondering how everyone uses IM glucosamine. I have heard of different loading doses as well as weekly shots and was just wondering how everyone uses it? I know it does depend on the mg per ml. |

| I do 5 cc weekly for 4 weeks then reduce to 5 cc every 15 days (because it is easier for me to remember, vet told me every 2 weeks). My horses do no have joint problems I am just using for maintenance. If you horse has a problem I would prob continue weekly since it is so cheap. |

| I load dose 5cc every 4 days for 28 days, then 5 cc every 15 days after for maintainence. |

Location: Lala Land | I did the loading 5cc per week for a month, then every 2 weeks for a 3-4 months, and my said after that we can probably just go to once per month |

| I just got my Aceytl D Glucosamine and the vet wrote to give 10cc IM the same day I give the 5cc of Pentosan(NOT in the same syringe) But,now I see everyone gives just 5cc of the ADG. I am suppose to give every week for 5 weeks and then wait 3 months and start up again. I can give her a call later,but just thought I would ask first,if anyone else does this?

You have a smart vet, Pentosan works very well with glucosamine. As cheap as the ADG is, it won't hurt at all to give 10ccs. |

Location: Missouri | I give 2.5mL (200mg/ml) IV once weekly. I also give Polyglycan two days before a race or at least once a month.

I get my Pentosan compounded with Acetyl D Glucosamine (I'm pretty sure the vet told me she had it compounded that way) |

Location: Iowa | 5ccs every 2 weeks. I have a question... I've been giving my horse adg for a couple yrs. It's clear. Ordered from a different vet and this stuff is goldish color. What's the difference? I believe my clear stuff was n adg.... that's what I ordered but this gold colored stuff doesn't have the n. |
