Blessed
Location: Here | FROM TROY & TIFF It is really hard to be letting the cat out of the bag. At this time they still can't figure out what is wrong or causing his issues. Do to head Trauma & Neurological issues, Troy is having unexplained epi...sodes of full paralysis - he can't even talk. He is just trapped in an unresponsive body. He is completely aware of everyone and what we are doing and saying but is not capable of communicating. He has high levels of pain and muscle spams. Moments when he loses his vision. He is having troubles controlling his arms and hands. At times, he has troubles walking. He has good moments and really bad moments but never has had any moments that you would recognize as Troy. Right now we are trying to get into a head trauma specialist to start more testing to see what is the cause b/c thus far all test keep coming back negative and everyone is scratching their head. They believe us and have seen it. Their is no explanation of when it is going to happen but when the episodes happen we seem to go backwards each time. I have never been so frustrate in my life. This is a case of hit and run. Troy & I were sitting at a red light in front of the Siteman Cancer Institute on the way to my weekly appt when we were hit out of nowhere. The person never even attempted to hit the breaks. Troy & I were talking and the next thing we new was that are car was impacted and our car was launched forward. I knew troy was hurt before the car ever quite traveling & starting tending him asap. the lady ran up to the car and saw how hurt we were, she went back to her car and left the scene of the accident. She was never found. You just can imagine how much your life can change in one instant..

Location: Bastrop, Texas | Oh how awful! I have read a few of his posts on FB and was confused, I have to admit. One minute he was making remarks about something low key and unrelated, and the next he was commenting on his condition. I should have paid more attention. It sounds to me like he is experiencing something called "expressive aphasia", which can happen as a result of stroke, TIA ("warning strokes"), tumor, or trauma. A lot of very perplexing things can be the result of traumatic brain injury, but the expressive aphasia is one thing that I recognize. It is because of trauma to the left side of the brain about 90% of the time, as opposed to the right. It is when he is completely aware of what he wants to say, but simply cannot say it,,,,he can't spit it out. Sometimes they just say a few incoherent words, or sometimes they will shake their head and just swear over and over again....ie: "dammit, dammit, dammit...." It is frightening, to say the least, when you want to say something and you can't speak! My heart goes out to him, but if I had to guess, this will eventually resolve, at least for the most part, especially in the absence of any sign of anatomic injury. Think of it as a bad bruise to the brain, if you will. |

He has helped so many horses from the west coast to the east coast. A very neat person.

Location: Somewhere between raising hell and Amazing Grace | Many prayers for him and Tiffany. I believe she is still receiving chemo for cancer but I am not positive on that. I know they could use all the support they can get! I had the privilage of meeting Troy in Lincoln NE and spent a few hours of a weekend talking with him. GREAT GREAT guy. Perfect gentleman, and an extremely knowledgable horseman. |
