Ohio girls barrel racing made a change to their dress code stating that they no longer require you to wear a collared shirt. I've heard some people saying it's a good thing and some saying it's bad. What's your take on wearing/not wearing collared shirts in a barrel race.

I think in rodeos they should because it looks more professional. I personally love wearing my button up collared shirts but I know a few ladies that hate them. For local shows and events that aren't recorded or televised, I think a long sleeve shirt is just fine.
Personal note though, I LOVE seeing barrel racing pictures when the rider is wearing a collared shirt.

I've ran OGBRA and for the smaller associations
(compared to NBHA/ IBRA
), I dont mind the 'no collar' rule. Wish they would have changed that years ago when I forgot to run poles in my collared shirt... lol
I DO think they should make it mandatory for full dress when its a co santioned OGBRA/ NBHA/ IBRA show.

For a local IBRA or NBHA, a dress code is a bit silly... aka local jackpots....
For super shows or large added money shows, I think it looks better when people wear a collared shirt.

Well before it never had to be long sleeves just had to have a collar. I used to wear a polo shirt when it was super hot. I think it looks better but it will be nice when it's hot or like someone said I forgot my shirt!!
