Location: Where ever there's sunshine! | Was feeding him grain and alfalfa 2x a day plus his muscle up and forco. Pulled my boy off his grain and am feeding him alfalfa cubes, forco, and muscle up. Alfalfa hay is hit and miss around here but cubes are always available. He gets pasture with a Bahaya/clover roundbale and is out 24/7. I would like to put him on renew gold, but for now I need something easier to get my hands on for fat. Also, what vit/mineral supplement do y'all use.
The poor boy seemed to be seeing ghost and had become so dangerous to be around that I had to leave him in the round pin the other night. We had to walk towArds the lights to leave the round pin and the moving shadows behind him made him run for his life. I pulled his grain and have been feeding alfalfa, forco, and muscle up for the past 2 days and he's back to being his calm gentle giant self. So, I'm done with the pre-made grains!!!! Just need fat and vit/min suggestions that are easy to get. |

| Add you 2lbs of steam rolled oats and 1 lb of screened chopped or rolled corn to even out his intake .... and stop the supplements ... which are not a necessary item for a good feeding program .... your horse can't read the labels anyway... lol |

| I pulled my boy of grains too. He is getting alfalfa/timothy cubes, beet pulp, milled flax, salt and California Trace. He gets pretty much free choice grass hay too.
Flax is something like 40% fat. Beet pulp is supposed to be good for hard keepers. I like the fact that once the alfalfa/timothy and beet pulp are soaked you can just mix in your other stuff and they can't sort. |

Renew gold and 1lb oats a day.
I will be putting him on renew gold, it won't be here for a couple weeks. I just want to make sure he doesn't get off balance with just the alfalfa |

Location: Opelousas, LA | I feed Omega Horseshine along with alfalfa pellets, it is a stabilized ground flax with yeast culture and a few other goodies. The cheapest place to get it is SmartPak, get the 50 pound bag and you get free shipping, can't beat that deal!
I can't believe he is being so goofy, he was always so laid back as a racehorse. I sure wish we had a few of those scary shadows behind the starting gates, maybe he would have run faster, lol. |

He was fine until I got him on the feed and the alfalfa. After a month or so he was full of energy but I just figured it was him feeling better and being able to move after his leg got hurt. Maybe I just had to much??? He's been off of the grain for 3 days and is back to the sweet calm boy I got from you. I havent been able to get him out to work in the dark again but I'm curious to see how that has improved. But yes, but a ghost behind him and he might have kept is track career lol
I'm going to check out your smartpac ! |

Location: home for the winter...what a dumb idea | Just an FYI from my experience with muscle up. it turned my calm lazy layed back gelding in to a fire breathing dragon if he was not rode every day for at least an hour |
