My question is: Were none of the horses nor the barn insured?
I can't imagine having horses of this caliber and not having them insured to protect your losses. And the same with the barn. While it is nice of everyone to offer a hand when in need, I have an issue with giving people money when they could have protected themselves with an insurance policy. Insurance does cost money, but there seemed to be no shortage of money when it came time for them to purchase all of these horses. If they were insured, what does this money go towards? I know I will get a lot of kick back for posting this, but it's something that I feel needs to be said. |

| Edited to say that this is in response to o2babarrelracer.
I don't know you. I don't know the people that lost these horses on a personal level. I have seen them at many barrel races, and I know a lot of people that think very highly of them. I simply want to say something on this insurance thing.
I don't know if they had insurance. Don't care, not my business. There is another way to look at this though.
I didn't have insurance on any of my horses until I had a terrible event happen with one of them. It wasn't common practice around any of the people that I dealt with and due to financial issues at the time, I didn't consider insurance a priority. However, after dealing with that tragedy with my horse, I insured every single thing on my place and have continued to do that for years. I'm sure that these guys will look at insurance on horses a little differently after dealing with this. I don't think it's right to bash them in the meantime.
Also, if you have an issue with giving someone a donation that could have insurance, then don't do it. Just don't do it. However, I don't think it's necessary to get on here and speak negatively of someone that has just suffered a huge loss.

Location: De Berry, Tx | Â Even in a total loss house fire people take up donations. They lost everything bin that barn. Halters, feed, hay, blankets, take, buckets. Everything. Could YOU imagine loosing that and looking at the rest of your horses and go its ok they were insured you will just have to wait for the check.... It takes gobbs of money to recover. They work a normal paying jobs. Wade is a horse shoer and I am not sure about Micah. Can YOU imagine having to replace all of that? Insurance wont cover it all. And even if it does by the time the check gets there they will have had to already buy stuff. I dont care if they get $20,000 in donations I know them and they will put it into a better barn or try to replace their stock. I know people are crazy and they use peoples sympathies but these gentlemen havent asked for a dime. They are just trying to recover. These people a ate up horse people they will use every bit of it for their horses. I am very saddened that someone would even question why there is even a need for donations for this. |

And may God have mercy on you WHEN (not if, because Karma is a *****) you have a tragedy that you need any help.

Location: Natchitoches, La. | Micah and Wade are both amazing people and would do anything for anybody. They have never asked for help. Even if the horses were insured that does not replace them.. These horses were their life and both are amazing with their horses. I cannot believe people would get on here and even talk about insurance at a time like this. That is just tacky and rude !! I just hope and pray nothing like this devastation happens to you.. Nobody deserves or ask to go through something like this.. Not one of us knows what tomorrow holds .. |

I just want to say when crossspur came on jan post and ask everyone to keep the thread on topic and to over look the negative post made by o2barrel racer, I was hoping this would be the last time to hear from her.. I will pray that she see's the anger in her heart and maybe apologize.. but now I see that she has went and made the exact same post to another thread.. she just copy and paste her evil words.. with this said she isn't drawing attention to others more like drawing attention to her self.. ok, here is my thought on her.. hot heads stir up conflict, but patient people calm down strife.so im a insightful person and I will restrain my anger and my glory is to ignore this offense.. I will pray that nothing like this will ever happen to you and I will pray that you will find in yourself to do the right thing.. you need to find peace in your heart.. God bless and when you wake in the morning thank god and when you go to your barn to feed your horse(S) give him a huge.. there is someone tonite that will not have that chance in the morning.. |
