If anyone's ever had one done I would like to know the good the bad and the ugly lol. I've been thinking about it for awhile but I'm just not sure about them. I have long long blonde hair and it's extremely thick even when thinned. It's got to where I can't do anything but boost my curls to make them look half presentable. It's either cut it(which I really don't want to do) or have a treatment put in it.

I get the brazilian blow outs and they are AMAZING for getting of frizz & curl. The ugly part is the expense...but I'm totally addicted.

I wanted a Keratin treatment but there isn't a salon around that does them.  The closest place would be a 5 hour drive.  Not gonna happen.  I saw an advertisement for Tresseme  Keratin 7 day treatment.  I know its not the same but it makes my hair more manageable.

That's what my hairstylest said she would be using. It's $125. Is that about what yours was? She said she could also do like a perm but just blow it straight but the keratin was better.

That is cheaper than mine! It is WAY better for your hair than doing a chemical straightner... It actually protects your hair from styling and makes it shiny! I love it!!!

I have naturally frizzie hair. Very hard to control. I've only had 1 stylist able to straighten it. I sure can't. I wonder if I'd get any benefit out of this.

I had a keratin blowout and it literally lasted till i washed my hair..... I have very thick hair thats fuzzy and curly. To do a full keratin treatment would have been expensive and taken a while. Even the blowout took about an hour and half. I can straighten it with a flat iron in about 20 min. So when i want it straight i just do that instead of keratin

Mine will be $125 but it will take 3-4 hours.

It might be worth looking into. It takes.me over an hour to straighten mine. Takes about 30-45min just to dry it. $125 maybe a lot to spend on hair but if it tames it and keeps me from having to straighten so long or even straighten at all for about 3 months it's worth it.

You can try an Agave treatment too.. That's what I use on my mom because it's more gentle than a keratin treatment. I think you can buy those at Ulta and do it home.. Just have someone do the application and flat ironing for you. One box normally does 2-3 treatments of hair.

This is the one I get..

that was the problem i had. I got a do it at home kit that was supposed to last for thirty days, took me over 2 hrs to do it, and lasted until i washed my hair a couple of days later. ugh

I have curly, long, VERY thick hair, that doesn't starighten, well it does, but after you starighten it for 3 hrs it turns frizzy in 30 min, not worth it to me. I had the Keratin treatment done a couple years ago, mine still wouldn't go straight after, but it did make it alot more managable. I've never been able to have my hair cut shorter because its so think it just gets huge and looks horrible, I was able to have it cut a little above my shoulders after I had it done and it looked good. It was expensive I want to say I paid around $300.00 for it, and it took 5 hours to do, BUT it did last me a year or so. If I could find time in my schedule so I could were it completely smooth (my hair lady told me no boby pins to hold it back, no pony tail, no nothing, completely smooth down and keep it smooth) again for 3 days I would have it done again.

I've had two keratin treatments done on my hair. It's not a brazilian, it's something else. They wash it in, dry it, then use a hot flat iron to kinda burn the stuff on. It smokes a little  I've gotten about 5 months or so out of each treatment. My hair is in good shape, but it goes "poof" in the humidity. The keratin treatments really help with that! My stylist told me that the more keratin treatments you have done, the better the results. I can't vet that yet, as I've only had two treatments, but I plan to continue them. A treatment is expensive, but they last a long time.

I got one and it ruined my hair.  Looked like burned hair.  Make sure who does yours has been to the training!  After my hair was burned I did a little internet research and it seems that the fried hair is due to a cosmetologist that was not trained specifically for the product. The hot iron is like 400 degrees and needs to be adjusted for some hair!  My hair.  I had long fine blonde hair.

That's my worst fear. But she has to order the stuff so I got tomorrow and she's gonna cut and thin and moisterise it then go back and she will do the Keratine treatment.

I was about halfway through mine when my sister called, when I told her what I was doing she said "you know that's how Jennifer Anniston ruined her hair and had to cut it off right?" Ahhhhh, thanks I'm halfway done haha

My hair is like the OP's. I've had four or five. They last me about 8-10 weeks now.
After your treatment, don't wash it for two days. Don't wear Barrett's, hats, or hair bands as it will create a crease. Just get up inthe morning, use some spray dry shampoo, flat iron, and live with it. It will last you. I've never loved my hair so much in my life.
