So far neurologically she is stable. Her pain and nausea meds are making her sick so they have a specialist coming in to see what else can be done.

The mare is fine. Nothing happened to her. So far they. Got meds in Kricket and she about to keep them down. She's not wanting to eat but that's to be expected. We're making baby steps forward. Your prayers are being heard!!

Lord, please let this be a just a tiny bump in the road for this barrel racer.  Help her heal and mend both physically and mentally.  We know your grace leads us to our passions and You watch over us at all times.  Amen.

They sent her home Wednesday with strict orders to protect her head. We had it out that evening after she snuck off and started tending to horses when no one was looking. She finally agreed she would leave them alone as long as she could make feed and clean stalls. I compromised and told her she could play with our mini, John Wayne, so long as she kept her head above him. So far so good. Other than a head ache and some stiff muscles she's back to normal. Thank y'all soo much for all your kind words and prayers!!

I've been hurt more than a few times and make it a practice now that before I do anything with horses, I say a little prayer for the Lord to be with me and protect me. I think everybody could benefit from that practice. A couple of weeks, I got busy, bringing a new horse in and got in the trailer to back her out and she started backing and then lunged forward, mashing my ribcage against the front of the feeder. Later that night as I lay in bed hurting, I remembered I had forgotten to pray. God has a way of ensuring we keep him involved.

Great idea!  We should all be doing this.  And an so glad to hear your sister is home and doing well.  Continued prayers.
