| Has anyone here had their back go into spasms from just riding a rough horse? This happened to me last Wednesday and I'm on Tylenol3 and Valium but the pain is terrible still. Hot baths and stretching i've tried it all. If you can think of something else I could try I'd sure appreciate hearing from you! |

Could be your neck. A good spine doctor. |

| Usually for my neck I go to a spinal care therapist that only works on the axis bone in your neck. They base their whole treatment on the axis bone which is the bone that the skull sits on. They gently put pressure on this bone and realign it which they claim will put your whole back into place. I do know that this works for the headaches, face and jaw pain I get so maybe I better get back there to see if they can help this. |

| How does,a spinal care specialist differ from a chiropactor. I have ra am scared to go to a chriopactor. Ra does get in your tendons and chirpactic can be too, rough for people with ra. But if they gently just do,the axis, then i would be willing to,try one.

Location: California | I had great luck with accupuncture with my bad back. I had muscle spasms several times over the course of a few years. Then my horse fell with me and I was really crippled up. Turns out I had 3 herniated discs which were awful to deal with. I ended up getting a steroid epidural which fixed my problem, but the accupuncture brought a lot of relief too. It was able to relax my tight muscles, open them up and get things moving. Good luck, back pain is no fun! |

I agree........accupuncture is the way to go if you can afford it. If you can't, sleep on a heating pad after a few good shots of moonshine or gin. |

I am thinking about getting accupuncture done on my neck and shoulder, does it hurt is my question? I have been having horrible neck pains and I know its a muscle in my shoulder that runs up to the base of my skull. |

| The axis or atlas is the top bone of your spine that our skull rests on. If it's out it can cause all kinds of problems. Headaches, tingling, numbness, site problems, facial pain and pain in the back. Their website is www.symmetryspinalcare.com. Not sure if there is something like this elsewhere besides Edmonton Alberta but I'm sure there must be. Hopefully! |

No, accupuncture does not hurt. I prefer it and massage any day over chiro work. For me, I do wind up having to take some type of pain relief, otherwise, the surrounding area continues to tighten trying to compensate for the pain/injury. It then becomes a vicious circle. |
