Location: MD		will they help keep them cooler? or will it basically just keep him hotter. He's registered black but I consider him to be a real dark brown. I just feel bad for him in the summer because he gets so hot, much hotter than my sorrel seems to get.

Location: WI		I use one on my 'brown' horse and yes I think it helps.  He's never sweating under it.

Location: NE Texas		There are some fly sheets out there that claim to help keep you horse cooler.  I did put a fly sheet on a mare last year and she did sweat under it quite a bit.  She seemed cooler with it off, so I chose not to put it back on.

I think it keeps Zan cooler (avatar horse), but with Xena, a clear bay, I think it makes her warmer.
