Location: Alabama | I have ALWAYS used & LOVE my CSI pads, but 350$ for a pad is pretty rough on me.
I just bought a new insert for my colt, but I'll be picking up my new horse this week & I'm going to need a new one...
what are your recommendation of a good pad for about 250$ or less? |

| 5 star.
The gal I haul with had her mare fitted for a Martin this weekend and when she asked about pads he pointed at my 5 star and said "I don't sell those, but I'll tell ya to go buy one" |

| I am a Saddleright fan. I won a Classic Equine ESP a couple of years ago and it's so pretty so I've been trying it out for the last week. The answer is - the jury is still out. It seems to rub but that could be because it's still cold and my horse still has a lot of winter hair. So I will keep trying it for a bit. My only complaint is I really like the split at the front of the Saddlerights so there is not pressure over the top of the withers. That is JMO. |

Location: Midwest | I also really like my saddleright. I have two 5 stars and I am using the saddleright with my crown C.
They are also really easy to clean and stay looking brand new. I bought mine used. It still looked new... I had it for a while and one of the barn cats puked/pooped/something nasty on it. I basically scraped the nasty off, cleaned the spot, and I'll be darned if the thing still doesn't look brand new.
The 5 stars are also a really high quality pad as well. Even though I am not using mine, I am holding on to them. |

Location: Jersey Girl | Professional Choice pads. I have tried 5Star and Classic Equine but always go back to the Pro Choice. CE is always either to inflexible or too thick and while I really liked the custom 5Star I ordered, my saddle always slipped back when I used it.
IMO you find what works for you in your budget. I personally won't spend more then $200 on a pad (and thats pushing it for me).

Location: Riding Crackhead. | I've tried quite a few different pads. The Pro Choice pads made my horses backs sore, the CJ Pro Choice pads slipped, CE seemed so bulky and thick, Impact Gel is very heavy. I've ended up with 5 Star and love them. I have 6 of them in various thicknesses and colors. |
