hoofs_in_motion - 2014-04-23 2:54 PM My best friend is on it........I know she has had a few complications with it. You might try the depo shot.....I get it 4 times a year (every 3 months) and it's just a shot in the hip. I haven't had any issues with it at all

the Depo shot, depletes your calcium and causes osteoperosis and a whole slew of other health issues!  I was on it for years too.. and am still trying to regrow my hair becuase of the vitamin deficientcies it caused.  No way in hell would I reccommend this to anyone!

Seriously!  I didn't think anything about it either, nor did my doctor tell me anything about it.  I have found this out through others who were on it and what their doctors have advised them of, and my own (after the fact) research.

I started on it because my doctor suggested it......I'm suppose to go back the second week of may for another shot......maybe I'll ask her for another type of BC, I don't want to lose my hair!!!!!!!!

It didn't all fall out, but it for sure thinned A LOT!  you might ask her what are the side effects and see what she tells you.

So maybe it's tmi, but I just got one put in. Like I'm still sitting at the Dr's office because I got woozy and tried to pass out on them as I left. I've never had kids and honestly the insertion was not that bad, nothing like what I figured it would be anyway. The passing out thing is pretty common for me...didn't think about it happening after this but I'm glad it happened here and not 5 minutes from here on the highway!!!

Glad to hear the majority of everyone's exPeriences have been good. I am going to have I put in at an outpatient surgery center since they want to do a tissue sample at the same time. I am glad that I will be out for the procedure since that seems to be everyone's major complaint.

I have had mine since my son was born. Not one complication. I love it. No craps no periods no worrying or trying to remember pills patches ect. I did have mood swings for the first 4 month but they have leaved out.....I think...lol...I guess that would be a question for my SO..

I had it and HATED it. Yes it made my periods very light and maybe just one to two days but I didn't like the randomness of my cycle even if it was just spotting. Also I would have random (almost contraction) like cramping. It wasn't bad all the time but when it did cramp it was a "holy freaking crap there is an exorcism happening in my uterus" type of feeling. Finally begged my gyn and insurance to let me get it taken out :)

Now I'm happily on the pill again

My sister had the same complaint except she was bleeding heavily after just a couple days of having it put in. Less than a week later hers completely fell out.

My friend had one, and when she went to her 6 week check to see how she was doing on it. It had fallen out. She was very happy her boyfriend was off at basic during that time.

I have the nexplanon iud in my arm. At first I hated it, I bled for a month and then it just stopped. Haven't had a period since.

I had one in for a year and half after having my youngest child. As far as a birth control it was great but dispite how small the thing is I could feel it. I felt it when I was in the saddle, sitting on a hard surface and once when I was simply tucking in my shirt I somehow pushed on my lower abdomen and manged to push it down which wasn't comfortable. I had it removed this past Tuesday and am really surprised at how uncomfortable it was.
