Location: MD | Im allergic to metal and would prefer not to spend 2 years of my life with a rash inside my mouth, also I'm in my twenties and I don't know if i can handle having braces at this age especially with going back to school.
did you have good results with them? what was the worst part about having invisalign? |

 Can Do It

Location: Hockley, Texas | I had them probably 11 years ago and it still takes quite a while. I wore them for about 1 1/2 years and finally quit wearing them before I was actually done. I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere and was just plain tired of it. I really have no idea if it helped or not since I didn't compare my before to my after since I quit. The worst part was the fact that you have to wear them all the time and have to brush after you eat anything. I am a snacker and enjoy Cokes too. You didn't want all the sugar right next to your teeth without brushing so it was kind of a pain, but mostly because I worked out of my truck doing appraisal work so finding a clean bathroom to brush in gave me the heebie-jeebies. |

Location: Texas | I did it. Been quite a few years ago already. Solved my TMJ problems. I still wear my last invisalign at night a couple of times a week out of habit, security, or who knows why. I would highly recommend it. |

| I have Invisalign on my top teeth and regular braces on the bottoms. The only reason I didn't do Invisalign on the bottom too is because my teeth had so far to move it would've taken forever.
The Invisalign can be a pain - take it out before you eat, brush your teeth before putting it back in - but I have definitely seen results. I'm a little over halfway through my trays. The only thing that really drives me absolutely nuts is that I can't wear lipstick with it in, because the lipstick gets ALL OVER IT!!!! Haha! That's a minor price to pay though.
I get a TON of junk stuck in the regular braces on the bottom, and it drives me nuts. I don't have that problem with the tops (obviously).
One nice thing about doing Invisalign top and bottom would've been not having to deal with eliminating certain foods - nuts, popcorn, etc. Another nice thing about the Invisalign is that it doesn't tear up your mouth the way metal braces do. The inside of my mouth around my bottom teeth has really gotten torn up, but around the top hasn't had any problems.
I'm 23, and there's no way in h*ll I would've done regular braces on my top teeth at this stage in my life, so I totally understand where you're coming from! |

| I just started my treatment with Invisalign in November and I am in my forties. All through school I had what most people would say are very straight teeth, but I had some crowding on my lower teeth and it seemed to be getting worse as I got older. I had a free consult and they said I would be a good candidate for it. I am on tray 12 and if I remember correctly I have 25 total trays. It has been an adjustment but mainly taking them out to eat or drink. I have had some discomfort but nothing unbearable. I am seeing alot of movement in the last few trays and the overcrowding is changing. So far I have been very happy with what is going on. The Orthodontist is putting a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth after the treatment is finished . I am a little self conscious when taking them out or talking to people cause I know they are looking at my teeth but I am really looking forward to seeing the results. |

Location: Washington | I did the full metal jacket when I was in high school, but like an idiot after years went by I quit wearing my retainer... heck I lost it. My teeth were shifting sideways, and I started having jaw pain. I was a good candiate for the invisalign. I wore them for 1 1/2 years. I had to have spots put on my teeth to help with the movement, I never ate salad in public or meat! Got hung up on those dang things.LOL I had people who never even knew I had them.
Very happy with the results. BUT I will always wear a retainer at night, no big deal to me.
I was 55 when I started the invisalign journey. Go for it! |

Location: MD | great! I never even thought of food getting stuck in metal braces, that doesn't sound very cute. I've been having crowding issues and a lot of jaw pain and I'm sure my dentist will start loving me for the money I'm about ready to shovel out to him. I'm glad to hear the reviews. Hopefully I'll be able to start my invisalign journey soon! :) |
