Location: Stephenville, TX		My mare was recently diagnosed as having Grade 3 Laryngeal Hemiplegia and will need surgery to correct it.  I refuse to do the most drastic surgery where they cut it out completely since it can cause aspiration or aspiration pneumonia, but I am open to less drastic procedures to get her some relief.  Does anyone else have any experience with any of the procedures to fix this?

Location: In The Snow, AZ		No experience with the surgery itself. But I've heard very positive feedback on it. My hubbys gelding is a roarer, although we don't know to what extent. Nobody local here has any experience with it or even had heard of it.  I've contacted vets and equine practices around the state. They've all had tremendous success with the procedure. Unfortunately, it would be a long haul and right around $2,500 for it to be done. The gelding is an occasional trail horse. So it just isn't warranted for our situation.


If you have a vet that can perform it and it is worth the cost for you, I'd definitely go for it. Have you gotten a price quote by chance?

Location: Stephenville, TX		No prices yet, I'm waiting for a call back from the vet that does them so that I can find out which procedures he performs and their costs, but I wanted to do a little research myself in the mean time.
