Had my gelding xrayed last week and there is pitting on the navicular bone. I have read many online articles about Tildren but I would like to hear personal experience. The vet I've talked to about using it is about a 4 hour drive each way.
This gelding isn't a barrel racer, he is a reiner. I bought him to try it out and see how I liked it. Hopefully I will get the chance to find out.
What kind did you have done? One large dose, several smaller ones, or regional profusion?
What kind of prep did your horse need? How long did it take the vet to give it? Did you have to pull shoes? What was the recovery time and how long until you saw any results or did you see any?
Will you need to give another dose in 6 months, a year, never?

I just took my gelding into Dr. Bennett in Shelbyville, TN. He has navicular cyst pretty bad and can get darn lame. The first vet I saw did not notice this. We did several x-rays on him. After discussing it we decided to inject the nacicular bursa with tildren and something else
(of course i can not remember..ugh
) Always he stuck the needle in and took another x-ray to make sure it was in the correct spot and injected 9cc's in there. To the point that it was hard to push the injection in there. Vet said that we will need to inject again in about 6 weeks then maybe every 12 -14 week after that. Longer if he stays sound..
We pressure bandaged his foot for 2 days and I stalled him one day and then turned him back out. Took the bandage off and he was a little ouchy but nothing out of the norm. I figured at this point that it was just another failed attempt to make him more comfortable being that I had yet to see a good result. I gave him 7 days off turned out to pasture. Brought him up to ride. He was acting funny but I didnt pay much attention.. threw a hackamore on him and was just going to go for a light trail ride and maybe a short long trot. I jumped on him and he felt a little spunky.. but again no biggie.. got to the end of the driveway to go into my big hay field and he decided he wanted to trot. I let him step off and and about three or four steps he humped up and tried to start bucking.. shocked.... because he is the most broke horse that I have.. I was shocked so I pulled his head up... he then proceeds to start snorting and flipping his tail up over his back. Prancing and acting like a colt. I ended up long trotting him and it was the most sound he has been since I have owned him.
Fastforward- I was bushhogging pastures this weekend and he and my 3 year old were lapping the field like race horses for atleast 3 mins and bucking and pawing.
So I give the "concoction" a
Mind you... mine was not all Tildren and a little cheaper, but at this point my horse... and myself... are happier than ever.

My gelding was given it as a two year old if I remember correctly. I didn't own him at the time. It stopped his deterioration and he has had no changes since. However, we are battling a bone spur on the back of his navicular bone now.

Had it done on a horse that had caudal heel pain but no actual changes on xray. Didn't really do anything for him. I ended up pulling shoes and the horse is 100% now
(which did take some time
). That is what worked for that particular horse.
