I've been riding in my black rhino for Lmost 10 years now. I have a hard timing getting up out of my seat and to the front when I need to. I had decided it was just me and something I was always going to struggle with. I had the opportunity to ride several other saddles over the past few months and realized, it's not me!!!! I able to get where ever I need to in a flatter seat but in my black rhino, which has a seat like a Caldwell, I feel trapped. It holds my pelvis in one position and that's where I stay. So, what saddles do y'all suggest with flatter seats?

Get yourself a cutter, super flat close contact ground seat. I ride all my horses in my rope saddle unless it's time to run or I'm tuning at some kind of speed on the pattern because most barrel saddles hold you in one position whether you realize it or not unless you get one that is pretty giant.

Corrientes are very flat, ride like a little cutter. I also though my orginal Billy Cook was flat, had an older Camerillo, also thought it was flat. And I just bought an Ed Wright and I think its pretty flat, love the way it sits me on my pockets. Hope this helps.

The cutter I rode in once had a really low back. Is it possible to get them with a taller back and not weigh 40 lbs?

I have a couple Steinhoffs that keep your pelvis tipped a little forward, if that is how you like to ride (which I do). I can easily ride colts two handed in a run if I need to, because the seat keeps you a little forward.

I'm not sure, I made a thread a week or two ago about cutting saddles just out of curiosity and Herbie sure has a nice one that looks like it is taller to me.

I have a caldwell is that is super flat! I measured the cantle and its right at 4" on the back but it has zero rise. I feel like I am popping out constanly. Having just the opposite problem.
