She has done nothing but hurt herself since. Anyon have one that's just not ready to quit?
In October she put her foot thru the fence and ripped it open.
January she poked something. What we will never know! In her eye and abscessed it. I finally have the OK to stop medicating it. 5 months later!
Last Friday she tried to bully the broodmare and lost. Ended up with 100 stitches in her chest and on stall rest.
I just left the vets and we are of the same mindset. Use her. She obviously doesn't want to retire. So.... that's what I'm going to do. What can I do to keep her comfy? She has arthritis in her right stifle. I won't use her hard but if I'm spending all this money on her I need to be doing something with her! And she is happiest when she has a job.

Put her on Previcox. Β And if you have access to a laser , laser the stifle.Β
And put her on a good joint supplement like Platinum CJ

When I retired my old guy, he didn't hurt himself, but he would wait by the gate and hurt the others when I turned them loose.
It took him about a year to enjoy the retirement. Now I can't catch the buggar even with grain, treats, etc
