| I have an older barrel horse that suffers from chronic tendinitis. He has 4 knots on his fetlock ( some old scar tissue, some fairly new). Most occurrences of his injuries have been from over exerting during a run. He's never torn anything, just strained his SDFT. I've had him about a year and having been doing everything under the sun to prevent reoccurrences and help him heal. Lasers, back on track wraps, corrective shoeing, tendon sheath injections every 3 months, surpass cream, not running in mud or sand.... List list goes on. 2 weeks ago he fell in his turnout and clipped his same fetlock pretty bad and the swelling was drastic compared to the other occurrences. The knot accessed this week and has completely drained but he's still swollen and very lame. As of right now I don't even feel comfortable to retire him to the field because he keeps hurting himself (he really loves to run around and act foolish)
Last week my vet suggested cutting his annular ligament to relieve the pressure. If anyone has had this procedure done on a horse? I would love to know all the details about it? I have also considered stem cell therapy? I'm not sure what to do but I'm running out of options. | |

| Has the horse been ultrasounded and xrayed?
Stem cells works the best if done immediately after the injury as the stem cells will become whatever they come in contact with, scar tissue, ligament, muscle, tendon, etc.
I have used stem cells within 3 days of initial injury, the first day diagnosis, second day eliminate inflammation ( there are drugs that can be injected into the area and remove all inflammation without doing damage to joints or tissue) third day stem cells ( I have done true stem cells and generic stem cells, my horses have all come back sound)

| We've done lots of x rays and did an ultrasound last week. How long have your horses been sound since doing the stem cells? Did you only have to do it once? | |

| My one had crushed collateral ligaments, did one round of generic stem cells has been sound a year, running tough.
My one had a torn deep digital flexor tendon by the navicular, can't remember the percentage did one round of generic stem cells, has been sound 8 months, running weekly.
Had one tore a joint capsule out of the joint, did hard core antiinflammatories then generic stem cells sound for almost 2 years.
These three only had one dose, and follow up assessment says I will not have any problems from their injury. The first two horses, the legs look normal on X-ray and ultrasound post treatment.
The last horse has a bit of scar tissue on ultrasound, but no decreased ROM.
