I realize that the poultice is not as handy as the Quick Wraps, but other than that, which one is more beneficial to a horse's legs for maintaining soundness, and treating minor swellings, etc.
What are your thoughts and preferences?

Never used either yet but I've heard quick wraps before a run and poultice after.

I have used both separate and together. Love them both

Had a small bow, cold hosed, applied SNM poultice wrapped with back on track no bow, next day couldn't see the bow anymore

Had a mare kick the fence cold hosed then applied SNM to the leg, she was as good as new the next day.

Poultice is good after a run.

Back on Track are good before a run to help heat/loosen up the muscles...kinda like a warm-up...at least this is how this therapy is meant to be used with human athletes.

I am clueless as to why all these rodeo girls wanna throw some back on track wraps from hock to hoof on their and run up and down the roads in the summer....maybe I'm missing something, but thats putting a ton of heat on your horses legs while trailering.

Do you use the "performance" SNM or the regular kind? Where do you buy it from?

I looked on their website to double check but they say that poultice can be used along with BOT products. As far as use before or after exercise this is what their website says:

As a preventive measure, Back on Track can be used with regular breaks. Use Back on Track 1 day before and 2 days after exercise and then stop until the next workout. For warm-up, use 1-2 hours before and 2-4 hours after exercise.

It increases blood flow so you don't want to use it immediately after exercise because there is already increased blood flow and it can cause more harm than good. 2-4 hours after exercise their blood flow is back to normal and they have cooled down. So basically it is good for warm up and recovery, but not for cool down in the first 2 hours after exercise.

Bots circulate blood and warm, I use them before a run to warm the muscles, and poltice after a run to cool.
