| I just bought my 3.5 year old daughter a pony/miniature horse. I have been shopping for a pony saddle and wanted opinions on size. The pony is about 38" tall and in good body condition (not overly round).
My dilemma is what seat size do I get for my daughter at her age/weight? She weighs 31# and is above average height for her age. Do I get a 10" seat or a 12" seat at this point?
Any advice on what brand is good would be appreciated, too!

Location: Riding Crackhead. | In my experience kids grow fast and quickly outgrew the 10". I'd do 12" and make sure its something that is built wider like a Corriente, Teskey etc. So many of those little saddles dont fit worth a darn. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | My daughter rides a 10" Allen ranch. She's 6 and still has growing room--the 12" I bought her for the future is way big still. I love how this saddle sits her squarely in the middle--a lot of youth saddles ride crappy. The 12" I bought is a Shiloh. I rode it myself one day (LOL) and really liked it even being too small.
btw, I gave $400 for the AR and $500 for the Shiloh, both used, so I didn't have to break the bank for quality.

Location: Texas | 10 inch corriente buckaroo is what we bought our daughter for her mini. It fits both of them fantastic. She will out grow the fenders before the seat and we will just buy 12 inch fenders and swap them out. Saddle also fits the " big horses" |

| I bought a Corriente 10" barrel saddle for my 3 yr. old granddaughter, which fits her great. Unfortunately, she is very short, so we had to remove the fenders that came with the saddle and use a nylon latigo as the fender. I think she will be in the fenders soon. Really happy with the Corriente saddle....this saddle fits her pony good and also a bigger horse. |

| 10" Corriente. They fit great on all kinds of horses and are really easy to sell when your kiddo outgrows them. My kids rode theirs until they were 9, so it can be a while. |
