Title may be decieving... my niece is borrowing one of my horses to circuit rodeo on and thinks that he got a shock while they were waiting for their run at the pro rodeo in Isanti, MN this weekend. Does anyone know anything about this? Perhaps an ungrounded wire, or? Is there any recourse for something like that? She almost was bucked off as they were calling her name and this horse has never bucked a day in his life and is good at the gate. Says she felt a jolt like she was hit with a hot shot. Looking for some information or answers here?

I am four states away so I don't really know, but I would like to. This horse is as cool as a cucumber and loves his job. She has made 2 more runs on him since and he is not right. We will be taking him to the vet. If that was the cause of this, and if it was due to any kind of negligence I will be upset. That is not ok. I would very much appreciate any information from anyone that was present at that rodeo and perhaps experienced the same thing.

I read some comments about this on facebook. Sounds like a lot of horses were getting shocked back in the same area.

I am not a facebook person. It is too far out of character for our horse to act this way, so there is no doubt in my mind that there was something going on.

I had a horse bite into an electrical cord carelessly left on the ground by my husband.  It was a long time ago but I remember him being barely able to move for several days.  The vet said he was a "giant charley horse."  With the right medications he survived and was fine again but what an ordeal it was for him.

Carolyn Uhler thanks for the warning... Margo Ransom maybe you should talk to the committee. Do they need a lawsuit someday...?

Margo Ransom Didn't hear about that this year. I'm thinking there must be a buried wire with faulty insulation.

Carolyn Uhler so I would put it in writing to someone on committee then they know and its off your liability of the asso. This isn't to start a tit for tat.

Carrie Casper Stroup Let me know what I need to do or who I need to contact...this needs taken care of before someone gets hurt.

Carolyn Uhler I agree or an animal is killed or rider. Grounding is an easy solution.

Carrie Casper Stroup I ride the most laid back barrel horse...he all of a sudden humped up and felt like he got on all four tip toes and started jumping around and snorting, ears straight forward. I thought he got in a nest of bees or something. Once we walked on, he was fine. This was right before I ran. I guess I need to let Lisa Novak know...contact information anyone???

    Carolyn Uhler shes on fb.

Camarie Widmer Sharon Widmer will vouch for that from last year. Her horse also got shocked by the roping chutes. When horses that never jump, jump...there's something going on. She told the committee but they didn't do anything about it.

Kassie Green Wow, really wondering if that's what made my mare come uncorked for no reason whatsoever now too! She hates electricity and will be the first to spook at it. Sounds like lots of horses were acting out. Scary!

Amber Mostoller Oh my gosh I was wondering!? I was trotting down there and my horse bucked...she has NEVER bucked...turned around to come back and she jolted forward like something was after her! Makes total sense now

Margo Ransom Ladies, I'll contact the people on the approval firm. Can someone pinpoint the spot where it was happening? Perhaps a little drawing and email it to me that would help. Sure didn't know this was happening.

Margo Ransom Did anyone notify a judge? Was it at the roping chute area or behind the bucking chutes? Need more detail to tell the committee.

Amber Mostoller This year It was behind the bucking chutes...I think they said last year it was in the roping box
