Location: Wide open spaces, Canada. | I'm wanting to transition my mare from a loomis gag and I don't know what to move her into. She's 6 off the track has a solid start on the pattern and a proper start. When I got her back from the cutting trainer in march I rode her for a month in a o ring snaffle and then moved her to a loomis because she felt a little dumpy on the front end. The loomis worked well but now that we are adding speed I would like a little more lift and control and indirect rein....I'm lost as to what is a good choice to move her to. ...sweet six, jr cowhorse, simplicity, .......... Opinions anfd reasons why would be greatly appreciate......... |

I really like the Simplicity, but here's another one that I've just added to my arsenal that I really really like. It has a lot of weight to it and great feel. http://profchoice.com/i-11643491-ted-robinson-short-lifter-smooth-snaffle.html |

Location: North Dakota | IMO the simplicity gives a lot of shoulder control, but we need to back up...it causes great break at the poll and a direct feel on the corners of the mouth (bend) without a "snatching" feel. I think it makes my horse feel more "lifted" right below my horn. It's an unassuming powerful litle bit! Great stop (because of the break at the poll) even without a chin strap. But you can add one if you need that little bit of help with slow down. Maybe it feels like a magic 0 ring, :0) just better. |

Thank you for the great explanation !! |
