I like counter arcs at a good working trot. Really pushing to get them to stretch forward and across.

Not to hijack the thread, but I'd like to know of some exercises that help develop that sweet apple butt na horse, or is it all genetic? I've has a few apple butts ( "bumped up" on top) but they were all born that way and just grew from there. I've never specifically tried to develop one on a horse that didn't have one, so I have no idea if it can actually be done... But I have a flabby, fat, out of shape mare that I'm wanting to experiment with. Lol

I like to get them really rounded out and working off the hindquarters to help build up a butt. But I know some of the BBs on here like dragging logs. And another good exercise for shoulders is high ground poles, like railroad ties or telephone poles, and make them close enough that when they trot over they are not striding between. So your basically trotting over them. If that makes any sense. Sometimes I succeed in confusing myself.
