Hungarian Midget Woman
Location: Midwest | I am considering giving my horse a calmer when he is stalled during a big show as he sometimes gets nervous away from home overnight-
Are calmers like this going to test positive under AQHA rules?

Location: Oklahoma | Look into Mushroom Matrix ECP... the olympic horses use it. I know the owner of the company. I've got my stud on it and love it. |

He's not bad, so if it's illegal I will just not use it.

Location: Oklahoma | I understand... I'd call the 1800 number on the stuff you bought to see about regulations for testing. |

I did send an email... the show is a while away, so I have time. If I don't hear back, I will call. :) I was just curious if anyone here knew offhand. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | THE has calming cookies that don't test. Ask for the legal formula. I have samples of the regular ones if you want to just try some to see how they work for you, and then when you order, just ask for legal formula. |

Thanks! I will keep that in mind. I have heard good things about the cookies.
He's really not that bad, but he will be stalled for an extended period and I am trying to keep him as chill as possible (within the rules and naturally). |

Location: Midwest | Update regarding product in the OP: Spoke with USEF, they were very helpful. They said while within the letter of the law, using products with L-tryptophan for calming during competition violates the spirit of the rule.
Also- do NOT use Quietex or anything with valerian root. This will result in a positive test.
They suggest withdrawing this product such as this for 7 days prior to competition due to erring on the side of caution, as she was not sure what the proprietary "Yea-Sacc" ingredient contained.
I am specifically asking because I will most likely be running in the IBRA Nationals show, and they follow AQHA guidlines.
Thanks all! |
